Glad our trails have brought so many to the area, it's what we set out to do originally. All of those trails up there were thought out and scouted out by two local lads. One of them being myself, I'm 38 now and dont ride much anymore but we used to spend all weekend up there making trails and jumps, until one day I contacted the curator and director of witton park to ask if we could make and maintain some proper trails, I had to go and sit in a board room shirt and tie lol we discussed plans and set off up there the following Sunday to walk around the places we had spotted. All of the trails on the tricky sixty side were all covered over by thick forestry. We spent days finding the right route and highlighted trees by spraying yellow Xs on them. The huge rock descent was two separate drops when we discovered them. We rolled up every weekend sometimes weekdays to mould and sculpt a course. Until 2 months later we discovered some diggers and guys digging out what we had spent time doing. They filled in the rock drops and made it 'safe' and ruined the whole aesthetic of what we had created. We were pushed to the side and Capita Symonds took all the credit. Newspaper articles, mountain bike magazines.. no credit to us. The silver lining though, is what we partly wanted, which was to bring more bikers to area, hopefully we did something that will stand the test of time. Cheers 👍
