I buy these at my grocery store in central MN for about $7 and cook them in a pot with shrimp, andoulie sausage, garlic, onion, fennel bulbs, butter, and white wine. OMG so delicious

$11 a kg in pack and save Te Awamutu NZ last Friday 1. sept 2023. I was so shocked that such things were so expensive, and they still had their shells on. Walked on by looks like a Delacy like these are way to heavy for my pocket these days, and I love them as much as any kiwi.

These are obviously nice and clean ones. I'm always wary of imported shellfish, because a lot of it comes from nasty polluted water. This was very good.

@@NoalFarm2020 big issue they are finding on the pacific coast mussel and scallop farms is the ocean is absorbing alot of the carbon dioxide released so its acidifying the oceans more and more. they are finding the mussels and scallops are not reproducing because of it. some have introduced buffers to fix the problem in small sections but its gonna be a big issue in the future.
