What did you think of the too many men on the field flag that allowed the Denver Broncos a redo after a failed field goal attempt? If you're a Broncos fan I'm sure you loved that it allowed the game winner. If you're a Buffalo Bills fan like me, you have to hate the result. But do you have to hate the decision?
I know a lot of you do, but this video looks at the odds of this flag occurring and compares it to other events like blocking a field goal or intercepting the ball and more. And maybe I'll even convince you that substituting to get the field goal unit in was the right call.

I disagree that the 12 men on the field was not a coaching error. In my opinion the coaches are responsible for making sure every player knows where they are supposed to be lined up for every play.

Remember last year's game against the Vikings? The "12 men" happened at the most critical moment of the game (which happened not to be a penalty). Also, at "13 seconds", a miscommunication to the kicker resulted in a touchback, leading to a FG This team seems to get careless often at critical moments. More importantly, there is still no improvement The "13 seconds" has been repeated many times this year. When a team is like that for years, who is to blame? Not the OC, that's for sure

I heard today that the 12th man on the field was Damar Hamlin. Is that even true? If it is true, did Hamlin go out there in error or was he sent out? No one is talking about this so I wonder. Did Sean screw it up or did a player screw it up by running out there when he was not supposed to?

According to an article in The Athletic, many teams do not make substitutions in cases like this. The Bills HC knew what was going on, and dared to complicate things. If one of the players was not aware of the situation, I think the blame lies with the coach. (Name of article: Why did the Bills sub their defense on 'mayday' field goal?)

Unless someone on the team confirms it, no way to know for sure
