The Bills head to Detroit for two games in 5 days!
This first one on 11/20/22 in Week 11 between the Bills and Browns, was moved to Detroit from Buffalo due to the 6 FEET of snow Orchard Park and surrounding areas had in a three day span. The second game comes on Thursday Thanksgiving Day 2022 vs the Lions.
For historical reference on why the Bills Browns game was moved: Expecting all the parking lots near the stadium to be drivable in 6 FEET of snow, where people were so buried they couldn’t even get to their cars or snow blowers, is ridiculous. You can’t move around 6’ of snow in 20+ different parking lots less than 12-24 hours of an epic blizzard hitting. It would have been complete insanity how many people would have been stuck and or stranded in levels like that. Players needed help from multiple people just to get out of their driveways and to the airport. Neighbors in snowmobiles even came to help some players get to the airport for Detroit.
BILLIEVE me snow games are fun on occasion but 6’ is absolute insanity. Fans would have never been able to get to and from the stadium.
