True story. I have one famous friend who invites me along sometimes. We went to a concert and met up with a couple of his famous friends, including Billy Bob Thorton. It was absolutely one of the most enjoyable times that I have ever had. Sometime later I was listening to Billy Bob Thorton on public radio do a couple of acoustic songs and he talked about writing a song about that night. He mentioned the other famous people that were there in our group, and he also went to the trouble of mentioning my name. I was so pleased that he had remembered my name and included me in his story and his song. I think that says a lot about the type of human being that Billy Bob Thorton is.

Billy bob was on an episode of wtf with Marc Maron. I always enjoyed him as an actor but after listening to that podcast, I gained a real appreciation for the down to earth person that he is.

I recently lost a brother and when I heard Billy's tribute to his brother, it immediately resonated with my own loss. I think his words are beautifully heartfelt and still so realistic. Anyone who has experienced a loss of a loved one should listen to his words...they are inspirational and comforting.

The guys is a sea of stories. He remembers names of people and places decades in the past (listen to his talk at SAG Conversations). AND he co-wrote one of the best noir movies in the past three decades; One False Move, which is also among the finest performances by Bill Paxton (RIP). One of the best in Hollywood.

First time watching one of his films was Armageddon. I've seen him in a lot of films since, but he's a great actor. And that story makes him a down to earth person. Very similar to Bruce Willis. Actually both perform in bands... Bruce allegedly isn't very good though. I would never have the heart to tell him that hehehe....
