It's criminal how overlooked this album was, and continues to be. This was Billy at his near best. Siamese Dream was his masterpiece, but there are parts of this album that approached that peak, critics and sales be damned.
I always felt this album was underrated too, Billys voice really fits well with the more electronic production on this album, and I'd love to see him try it again sometime with SP
(Strayz Lyrics) The gifts I share The love I kept inside for you There's no one there but failed soldiers And dare we feel We shared a light that won't go out But goes on What's farther than the noonday sun? You know I'm true I wasn't born to follow You know I'm true I wasn't born to follow You are what you are to me You are what you are to me I take things down I play chess from both sides now There's no regrets Just junk sayings What is the price if you won't play? You know I'm true Wasn't born to follow You know I'm true Wasn't born to follow You stay with me You stay with me when I go You know I'm true Wasn't born to follow Yeah yeah You know I'm true
No idea why this album and Zwan are. It on iTunes….im guessing Billy didn’t like these albums…this album is amazing…the bass on this song sounds amazing on a good system…just my 2 cents
Yep. Moment he's gone the world will realize what it's lost. He's getting to the point where he will be more valuable dead than alive especially since all the rights to the Pumpkins music is gonna revert to him soon. The corporations rarely allow anyone to live when that's the case. I worry for my Billy.
Matthew Smith he rubs some ppl the wrong way but having closely followed & observed him as a fan, to me he comes across as a good guy, just with peculiar flaws-well-intentioned, thoughtful, & sensitive but also volatile & moody. He’s dealt with a lot of trauma & mental issues in his life, which is important to keep in mind.
