Billy Crystal now acting his age

Seems that comedian Billy Crystal has always enjoyed playing old, like in 1987's "The Princess Bride." Actually getting old? Not so much. But it will be less of a stretch for the now-73-year-old to play an aging comic in the upcoming Broadway musical, "Mr. Saturday Night." Correspondent Tracy Smith finds out how Crystal stays so youthful.

Have loved him since my teens. He always bring a smile and joy to my life and countless others. My favorite movie is when Harry met Sally.His attitude is inspirational and encouraging as I’m in my mid fifties now! Keep going Billy😍

WHMS was the last great romcom. From Pretty Woman onwards they are paint by numbers cliches appealing to the silliest (and sometimes highly suspect) Cinderella fantasies of teenage girls.

Totally agree with him. I’m 57 now and I live my life. I don’t feel as those I have to figure out my life or do things because of what others think should be done. I love this age. I actually feel sorry for the young people.

Billy always had such great fond memories, with those guys. Legendary people that are forever missed by us, including him. He even stirred up a great speech at Ali's funeral, too.

I'm convinced it's the attitude about aging. If you think you're done, you're done! But if you are still learning, excited about life and taking care of yourself (as he says) the outcome is far better.

I agree. When I finally did everything on my bucket list, I became a bit scared. Almost 70 and nothing left to do. So, late one night I sat right up and started writing a new bucket list. I’m going to have to close my office so I can finish it. I’m thinking it’ll take 25-30 years. When my grandchildren get summer breaks, they’ll go too. Hmm, #1, trade my tent in fir a used motor home? #2, teach my grandson how to . . . drive? So I can take pics while we go through the country. Hmm.

I loved the "Mr. Saturday Night" movie even though it's arguably not a that great a movie. It had the potential to be great, but didn't quite make it. I hope the stage version will give it another chance. It deserves it.

My favorite thing about Billy Crystal has nothing to do with comedy. When he produced (he might have directed and wrote it) "61" you could tell from the beginning to the end of that movie it was made by someone that truly loves a professional baseball team and the players that represented it.
