I’m glad he didn’t go blind with his right eye, it sucks when you can’t see with one I know because my right eye is blind, and it really brings down your self esteem.I’ve been like this for quite a few years now and I’m use to it by now, no longer depressed. I don’t wish that on my worst enemy.
I remember several years back people were building BJS up as the man to beat Canelo. I saw a couple highlights and was like oh shit this guy is actually really good and was actually somewhat conflicted leading up to the fight. But Canelo really showed the difference in levels that you can only see if the best fight each other. I’m confident everyone Canelo fights will look like BJS and Plant, world class fighters that were outmatched.
@@QuixEnd hardly getting his shit kicked in. Was an even fight till Canelo landed a damaging shot that forced him to retire in his corner. Was never dropped, never outboxed, just Canelos power and accuracy is next level.

Every fighter respect each other they just do trash talking to sell fight and create a bit of entertainment. I mean if all the fighter stay humble it won't be fun . You need a bit of trash talking as well. And after fight there is always respect
It’s happened to all of us whether it’s through another person in a fight, illness, family loss, etc. Always be humble! Humility for mankind. If you exhaust yourself you will be humbled. The humble will be exhaulted. We all have to learn. Wisdom.
Nah. He's still an absolute piece of shit. He just happens to be on a downer because he's forced to eat humble pie because he quit on his stool after literally getting his face caved in.
I have absolutely no issue with any fighter “quitting” if there’s an eye issue or any serious issue, their long term health is far more important, my problem is when fighters call out or judge other fighters for doing it and then do it themselves. You can’t make judgement on something like that until you’re faced with it.
I get what your saying. a fighter knows when its time bit sometimes they dont. bjs shouldn't have said what he said but what I will say is bjs did show alot of heart when he suffered the horrific injury v canelo there was still well over a minute in the round and bjs never went down he carried on and got to his corner and his corner pulled him out the fight. DDD took a knee as he knew himself his injury was getting too bad for him to go on.
@@TG-mt6ke Fuck off bjs showed no heart otherwise he would have gone out for another round when tibbs asked him too. Ben davison told him to quit and he obliged
"I felt comfortable and didn't feel any power." Yeh until he set you up better than you've ever been and hit you so hard your face caved in. It's hard to listen to you, always just hiding and ego to the last.
@@kamrankhandevil I know but he has to day all the stuff before. Can't just be truly humbled. Says things cos he thinks he has to be seen to be humble but says all that before cos his ego is huge
And Kugan you showed your true colours, you should have done this interview and asked billy these hard questions. We all know billy is your mate but you should have stepped up
Canelo makes you feel so comfortable that you start doing silly mistakes thinking he won't do anything then boom he'll catch you when you least expect it.
Canelo almost landed that punch twice shortly before the finish, BJS just didn't recognise the danger. He was thinking long game at that point and Canelo was teeing him up, he'd worked out the punch needed. Arguably better than Tank's uppercut.
He gave a good account of himself- won some rounds. The boy can box his arse off. But he never displayed good power. And if you can't get Canelo to respect your power, it's a wrap. I still think BJS can beat A LOT of fighters out there...on points.
@@AthosJosue , idk man. I kinda disagree. although it'd be close. Caleb just doesn't put no stank on his punches. It seems like he goes for speed and accuracy over actually following through. on that same note- BJS is similar with HIS power problems. But I think BJS is a little more slick. just a lil'
He wasn't only the "better man on the night" Canelo was plain and simple the better man, he would beat BJ 99 times out of 100 and the one time he would lose is he punches himself.
The worst thing ever was to get into ring with ginger .but then if somebody gave me the opportunity to earn that kind if coin for a bout I'd take it and pull out a machete 100%, and if the corner told me different I'd probably go for them after but then that's just me 🙄
They’re 3/4 weight classes apart where’d you get that from you wet flannel he took a blow off a 180 pounder and shattered his orbital bone you really think he’s smart enough to get in their with the big boys get over urself Joyce or Dubois could be run in as a replacement as they’re from the UK and the fight is taking place in the UK but usyk ain’t pulling out he’s here to take them belts and get out of totty
"If I hide for long enough they will forget"... in most cases this would be true, but for certain specimen our brains adapt. Reading the comments, this is one of these specimen.
Not really, been hit by plenty of fighters who have done damage to my face but not necessarily felt there power, you take the shots most the time and asses damage on corner as you don’t realise how hard you were hit. Every fighters power feels different to every fighter. If it was that hard he’d of taken a knee
@@asmrmcogen1548 You don’t feel the power and the damage because of the adrenaline rush you get. However, when your adrenaline tank runs out, you will feel the power. Let Billy Joe Saunders continue to fight another round or two and I bet he will feel the explosive power. Another thing worth mentioning is that no matter how much adrenaline you have, you will feel the power when you get hit to the body. BJS got hit by some crazy body shots and he knows he felt them. But Billy being Billy is playing tough guy as a way to navigate out of the criticism he received for quitting!
Billy treated Mark Tibbs with complete contempt during fight week. Saddled him with Ben Davison & essentially ignored him. Billy had his old man with him at the final press conference talking about cars ffs. Then he moans about him not being at the hospital. He probably wanted to have a go at Davison, hanging around like a bad smell...

To be fair the man didn’t quit. You have a corner that’s there to protect you. I’m sure 99% of those fighters have no quit in them. If it wasn’t for corners they’d die in there.
Humility from a man who got absolutely hammered by Canelo and that's all there is to it. You fought a good fight but there's no coming back from a hiding like yours; Canelo was too good for you but I wish you well. Respect to you for your humility.
There are still plenty of fights for him. Canelo just worked out a move Billy Joe repeated and caught up with him, but Billy Joe is a very talented fighter
"If my two eye sockets were broken, my jaw was broken, my teeth were out, my nose was smashed, my brain was beaten, I was not stopping until I was knocked out or worse. I don't agree with a man taking a knee and letting the ref count him out".

@@Vengeance622 "ThE jUdGeS hAD cAnElO uP" As if judging isn't rigged/biased in Boxing. Canelo is a protected fighter just like all American fighters that's why they never fight outside the U.S.
Billy Joe “get carried out da ring bruddah” Saunders. Funny to see that Kugan is not doing this interview, who has never hidden that Billy Joe is one of the only boxers he sees as a friend and someone he’s close too. I agree with Porky’s, assessment of Billy. The promoters and broadcasters will have little interest in promoting him. Too inconsistent, too many injuries, pull outs and now a renown quitter.
He had plenty of time to give Kugan the exclusive. He didn’t and he could have waited for Kugan to come back. It’s not like he needs to speak urgently. If you’ve waited months before speaking you he can wait another few weeks.
he is an ex world champion with 1 defeat if he still has ambition id say he could definitely get a 3 fight deal with a major promoter/network there's still plenty of fans that would want to see him make a come back and plenty more that would like to see him bashed up again
It’s pointless saying BJS had moments in the fight or he was up on rounds because it was clear to see that Canelo was just watching & reading BIlly Joe but when Canelo turned it on he dominated from there & ended it within the next round
"When Canelo turned it on" and when exactly was that? I'm guessing Canelo just lost rounds on purpose and let Billy counter and make him miss and it definitely isn't because it was a good competitive fight.
@@GW_01 yes, canelo dragged him into the middle rounds , let him expend some energy while letting BJ realize he couldn't dent him then upped the pace notch but notch. It's a standard tactical strategy against a speedy hotshot with no power who is on the big stage for the first time. If you knew anything substantial about the sweet science you'd know this. Think before you type mate. Silly comment.
Billy basically said what I was saying ever since the fight with Canelo. Great fighters find a way to win. Canelo landed that shot that took all momentum away from BJS. Billy was very honest. Fair assessment to say he was well in the fight through 7 rounds but Canelo tee'd him up nicely and ended the fight.
Isn't he supposed to be saying he wants the rematch because he almost had him (when he is all healed and on point of course.. not talking about how Canelo has retired him.. wtf)

Saunders the quitter got ben to take him out. There was naff all wrong with that eye driving a car a few days later with kids in it. And yeah you did fight canelo so did yildrim and rocky fielding don't mean your elite. Picked up a vacant belt against a guy no one knows and held it hostage till canelo came for it
Yildrim didn't do jack shit billy actually managed to win rounds against canelo and that can be difficult to do against canelo. And you try putting up with an injury with your orbital bone and they can recover quick with those injuries more than you think. Billy is a good sportsman and admitted defeat to a better man. Canelo outboxed him. Made him miss easy. What "serious" moments did BJS have Umar? He literally won 2 rounds. DAZN commentary was a joke. And also doesn't the head trainer have the final say? That was Tibbs. Tibbs basically said BJS didnt want to continue.

That "just another day in the office" attitude will get you nowhere against Canelo! Hence the results! Truth be told when fighting Canelo, it must be the performance of your life! You must take him where he's never been before, and to do that, you yourself must be willing to go where you've never been before! The "just another day in the office" comment is usually reserved for those who are so dominant, and only know how to win! Not for those that know they are fixing to be put on blast and get WALKED TO SCHOOL!!! Every UK fighter is a boss till they leave the UK! Just keeping it 💯!
He looks healthy, eye healed well, and two division world champion. If he never fights again he has had a good career. I've enjoyed watching his fights.
Billy Joe lost interest in boxing years ago, probably in 2018, this was a cash out and to be fair he did give it 100% until that punch broke his cheek and eye socket. Canelo even said in an interview that he felt his face break and knew BJS wouldn't be back out for round 9, so I take Canelo's word for it since he delivered the punch and has no reason to lie for Billy.
How is that? Funny the fake news people create when they don't even understand what they saw. Canelo in no way dominated the fight. He was losing the fight. He was getting touched up. And then he injured the other fighter. Didn't knock him out. Didn't break his will. It ended because of an eye injury. I'm not a fan of either fighter I'm completely objective. Neither fighter is very impressive they just fight in a thinned out era in thin weight classes.
Billy Joe had a masterclass against David Lemieux, on 12/17/2017. Then after that his next fight was suppose to be against Demetrius Andrade. He then tested posted for a PED. Just looking at the timeline I'm 1000% sure he took something.
Hmmm when he said ben was straight in the hospital, and all the people he expected to be there, were. And times like this you know your TRUE friends. Yet we know tyson was straight off on a plane to go partying with broner 🤔
Thanks for the interview and breakdown of the fight. Forgot the trolls and keyboard warriors. Saunders gave a very good account of himself and took his loss on the chin. Fair play to him.
@Jimmy Tappy Canelo was not a drug cheat during the fight against Billy Joe. They had VADA testing for that fight. Fury cheated with this gloves in both fights. He won't be able to do that on October 9th.
