God you forget how good this is. Three minutes of absolute magic with no even slightly boring moments. And the SINGING! I'm sure most fans know Billy reckoned this album was probably the last time he'd be able to sing like this so he went out in a blaze of glory. That's the only problem. I want to sing along so much but I can't keep up with the high notes or all the ricocheting up and down the scales.

No. This gets 5.5/10, while ""Uptown Funk!" gets 5.2. Westlife's version of this gets 5.3 and "Uptown Top Ranking" (by Althea & Donna) gets 5.4. They're all mediocre. Only listen to them if there's nothing else to do.

Hrm, well given the subject of the song it feels more like a dude from the working class area trying to woo a girl from the high-class area. Yeah I know it's too on the nose but sometimes you don't want to be overly subtle with your theming.

Billy Joel’s Uptown Girl was the second of six consecutive top forty hits from his An Innocent Man album that spent five consecutive weeks at number three on November 12-December 10,1983. That song not only was about Billy’s girlfriend at the time and he will later marry Christie Brinkley who also appeared in the video,it also paid homage to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons who inspired Billy to write Uptown Girl with the group in mind.
