In this video, we will going over the life and resting place of Billy Paul. He was born as Paul Williams, but he became famously known as Billy Paul. He was a Grammy Award-winning American soul singer, known for his 1972 No. 1 single "Me and Mrs. Jones." The song Me and Mrs. Jones became Billy Paul’s signature song. The infidelity song made to the number 1 chart on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and U.S. Soul. The song was released on his album “360 Degrees of Billy Paul.” On this album, he released the song “Am I Black Enough for You? Today, you may have heard this song in the 2015 documentary “The Black Panthers: Vanguard of the Revolution. The rapper Schoolly D name his song, and his album after the song Am I Black Enough for you, and even sample Billy Paul’s song as well. However, the song did more harm to Billy Paul’s career than good. When he released the single in April 1973 it failed to replicate the chart success of Paul's previous number-one smash "Me and Mrs. Jones", instead reaching #79 on the Billboard pop chart and #29 on the soul chart. Questlove of the Roots equated Paul with Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder, calling him "one of the criminally unmentioned proprietors of socially conscious post-revolution '60s civil rights music. Many people don’t know that Billy Paul served with Elvis Presley and a number of other musicians in post-World War II Germany in 1957.
