I think I have been in this audition room with people not far from this level of not understanding. The looking at cel phones, the bored distraction , the inane comments. Once I auditioned for a Shakespearean company and I said my piece was from TITUS ANDRONICUS, and they stopped me and said :"Oh we are only hearing Shakespearean monologues" . Were there a camera ,I too, would have done a take to the camera. Bravo. Watching the entire series.

I literally got PTSD at the interruptions. LOL

My husband and I love 'Kinky Boots' - we used to have the CD of the 'Kinky Boots' original Broadway cast recording in our car and played it on repeat during many car trips. We love Billy Porter. He's an incredible actor and you all gelled so well together. We have no idea how you managed to keep a straight face during the filming. Came across your videos today and have been loving them! I was just wondering how much direction are the actors given? I've watched this video and the best Broadway dancers audition to be one of the best Broadway dancers and I know it's improv based, but there's some degree of planning.
