Billy Porter, Stark Sands - Not My Father's Son (Acoustic Version) 

Probably the most underrated song in musical theatre

When I saw this show in June, it was a 19th birthday present from my partner. The first partner I've ever had who truly cares about me and doesn't abuse me. I had a really tough start in my life with rough, irresponsible father figures drifting, dying, destroying my mother and I; these experiences carried through my life to this very day. Seeing this show -- B A W L I N G my heart out during Not My Father's Son -- was the only cathartic release I've had in my life of this ache I've held. Putting myself in thigh high red boots every morning mentally is *hard*, it takes everything I have to mask my insecurity and show the world that I'm thriving, not just surviving. Yet, I do it. I find the energy somehow to make it through. This show put such a good perspective in my mind that I use to get me through this shit life, and I am so grateful to Kinky Boots. Anyway, in no more words, this song is... excellent.

Love the new video, I got to hear the song yesterday but I couldn't guess what the video was going to be. Cindy did a great job directing, I love hearing these guys sing together. I have been wishing for them to sing something that wasn't Lola and Charlie and was a real duet. It's beautifully done, Bravo Billy and Stark, you did an amazing job.
