I gracefully yet gratefully accept your salute with the gracefulness of a swan… 🦢 This song is literally a lyrically, vocally, instrumentally and productively produced masterpiece and I fell in love with this blessing from the moment I first heard it at just three years old in 1979 and now forty five years on this love affair I began with this song way back in the late 70s right up to the present day of now as part of the mid 2020s whilst we’re in 2024 still burns strong within my heart soothing my physical soul and caressing my internal spirit taking me to romantic destinations that only exist within the (12TH DIMENSION) and above into the (HEAVENLY REALMS) which tells me this song must’ve been conceived in Zion and born within Agartha… 🕊️
I'm so sorry. What a beautiful tribute then to your late husband. I just read Billy Preston's bio and it was very sad. Yet watching this, I believe he had some wonderful years because of his amazing talent. RIP. 💔💔💔
Syreeta was underrated. She had such a pure beautiful tone and richness to her amazing voice. Billy also amazing talent. Those who gave thumbs down have no concept what this song is all about
Absolutely! This is really the most "natural" setting in which I've seen Billy Preston's natural music style. The guy's a talent....and they're so good together in the piece!
This is as close to a perfect duet as possible. The vocals, the harmonizing, Billy Preston's piano playing, Syreeta's exquisite vocals, the timing etc. etc.. You could listen to this in 50 years and it would still sound fresh. Excellence all around.
I did listen to it 50 years later.. (well 42 anyway) when i was a 9 year old Scottish lassie from Edinburgh I first heard it and I've thought about it ever since.. it is beautiful and angelic and haunting, wow, amazing
It's the year 2024 getting ready to turn 70. This is the most beautiful love song ever. It brings me to tears. Where did the time go. I'm ready to go home to God.
Indeed...which is why the Beatles signed him up for the 'Get Back / Let it be' sessions and he ended up being credited on 'Get Back'. This performance is simply divine.
NOT a ‘Pop’ song, that’s a racial redirection to NOT credit the creators of this GENIUS. “This is BLACK AMERICAN music.” Period The Greatest on Earth 🌎. ‘WE’ never called ‘Our Shit’ pop,…. that’s white peoples naming shit they don’t own and had ZERO to do with, per usual. One of the Greatest ‘Black American’ songs ever done. And Elvis is NOT the king of rock & roll, BLACK AMERICANS created that too. we just call it ‘Music.’ 🎶
@@sct352t3 A Black Man went to Europe, discovered the Beatles. Signed them, released their first single, brought them to the United States 🇺🇸 and right on cue,…. “White peoples (including the Beatles) pulled a😂back door move and usurped the brothers discovery and you never knew he even existed. You can online research 🧐 what I said.
My husband and I-our song. We were married in 1980. He died 2022. I cry now when I listen to this. One of the best love songs ever written, performed with perfect passion by two great artists.
This is one of the most beautiful love ballads of all time....... they've captured the essence of love, man, woman, and God together to make this masterpiece. Whatever the reason you've come to hear this song, I wish you all the best.
I just met a beautiful woman named Sarita, from Nepal, and I told her and her husband, Padma, about this amazing, unforgettable song. I didn't know her name was spelled slightly differently. I will play it for them tomorrow!
Timeless! Not only does he play the piano beautifully, he sings the song with passion. She on the other hand, gives love another point of view with her melodious voice and expression. The song captures you.
wavetrend I just now learned these two amazing talents passed in the early 2000’s. So young - neither had even reached 60! I’m very sad. May they Rest In Peace.
Billy Preston & Syreeta Wright, James Ingram & Patti Austin, Donny Hathaway & Roberta Flack and Rene & Angela!!! Some of the best duos ever to be sung!
My god does Syreeta put today's female singers to shame, no vocal gymnastics to try and impress, just perfect pitch - flawless talent and doesn't feel the need to take her clothes off As most do these days !!
I first heard the song in 1975 when it came on the radio and I thought it was the most beautiful song I've ever heard and then I didn't hear it anymore to about four years later and became a hit
@@jay-nx4uq ???? Artists of ALL races are being snubbed for woke culture echo chamber nonsense. What "we" ALL need is a hall of fame that leaves OUT race and woke, and selects on talent and achievement. Then Billy WOULD be in, as would many that aren't of ALL races that should be...
Frank Hans And she also did a duet with Jermaine Jackson and it’s on this level...because everything she sang she simply crushed it...!! I’m gonna find it...! It’s a faster groove, but her voice is amazing...! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2RgvueowOCU.html
Wow....i never knew her voice was this pretty. What a magnificent voice she had. The quality of it is outstanding. What makes it even more pleasant is that this is live. Billy Preston could play that piano.
Come bring me your softness Comfort me through all this madness Woman, don't you know With you I'm born again Come give me your sweetness Now there's you, there is no weakness Lying safe within your arms I'm born again I was half, not whole In step with none Reaching through this world In need of one Come show me your kindness In your arms, I know, I'll find this Woman, don't you know, with you I'm born again Lying safe with you I'm born again Come bring me your softness Comfort me through all this madness Woman, don't you know With you I'm born again Come give me your sweetness Now there's you, there is no weakness Lying safe within your arms, I'm born again Woman, don't you know, with you I'm born again I was half, not whole In step with none Reaching through this world In need of one Come show me your kindness In your arms, I know, I'll find this Woman, don't you know, with you I'm born again Lying safe with you I'm born again
I am 36. heard this as a child and have heard that melody swirling in my head for about the last 30 years, no idea who the artist was, the lyrics, or the song title. Gorgeous song. Finally know all that info! Internet is such a wonderful invention...after all these years...
Oh look, another thoughtless comment, where the term "underrated" is used. Can you explain the methods by which you're quantifying underrated, or let me know where I can find these rating please?
@@lilyleon1475 The guy was an 'unofficial' member of the Beatles, continued to work with George after the breakup and had immense talent, yet is barely known. I'd say that qualifies. Oh, not to mention he co wrote 'You are So Beautiful' by Joe Cocker and worked with Clapton as well.
@lilyleon1475 Google and you will find out. Without him we wouldn't have the last Beetles album as him being in the studio kept them together before they eventually broke up.
Strangely, Billy Preston has always been underrated. Personally I think this late great super multitalented musician is one of last century’s musical geniuses!
Oh my God! I am in tears! I love Syreeta, so much and this live version is exquisite! Thank you Billy Preston, too! Both resting in God's arms, Born Again.
RIP angels thanks so much for all the beautiful music you left your millions of fans to enjoy!!! You’re soooo missed, but you’ll never be forgotten!! Enjoy your beautiful beautiful home in HEAVEN 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Oh my lord… This song was on the radio when I first kissed my highschool sweetheart in the back of my car at 17 years old. What memories… Tears of happiness. What a beautiful song..
It's unfortunate that kids today don't understand the magic of romance and anticipation. Everything is available now whether you are ready for it or not. This song reminds me of spending all night talking to a girl on the porch and impatiently waiting for that moment again. Beautiful music deserving of a beautiful memory when words actually meant something.
Lisa Gibson i had Musicians play this in church at my wedding along with John Lennon grow old with me... Made moments so wonderful...sadly I'm divorced lol but this is sublime
These young people today have lost the love....they only sing songs of lust and extreme carnal acts. This song has so much love, energy, and soul. I'm glad I was born in the 70s.
Billy Preston was the 5th Beatle given that position by the fav4 themselves. They realized his great talent. I LOVE this song. We never hear this greatest nowadays. Such utter beauty.
Syreeta Wright had a heavenly, operatic voice that caught the ear of her future husband, Stevie Wonder. Her singing style was very similar to the backup sings in Stevie Wonder's band, Wonderlove. Female singers included, Anita Sherman, Lani Groves, Deniece Williams, Shirley Brewer, Minnie Riperton and Susaye Green among other. They all had angelic voices with vocal ranges that reached the heavens.
Pure sweetness and artistry. The damn subtitles are wrong. Some clueless person wrote "Come bring me your selfies" Just shows you how our pop art has declined.
Many of the younger generation will not know that Billy Preston played with both the Stones and the Beatles and played the piano parts of Get Back. The man was a major musical talent.
I used to think that this was one of the best duets ever and many years later I haven't changed my mind. Its never been bettered. Both of these stars had fabulous voices and left us far too soon.
Answer: Adults don’t listen to Radio - they P A S S I V E L Y listen to Spotify or iTunes or Discs 💿-- Teens listen to Radio AND Those platforms - But A C T I V E L Y: They Post Comments, Subscribe, Forward-to-Friend etc … And the Algorithms ONLY SEE THAT - and playlist is adjusted to Simple Hooks driven and or Silliness overall Because Children don’t have a palate for Sophistication or Elegance or Nuanced Artistry. Why ?? Because USA school system has PUSHED ATHLETIC programs and Cut out entirely, Music or Art classes-- Which means: They Won’t Have a Palate for anything except Baby Shark or stuff w profanity
Música esplêndida..... Nos remete a tempos inesquecíveis, inigualáveis, não com relação ao romantismo, mas nossa infância, casa, juventude, pais, enfim nosso princípio de vida!
