Bluegrass was mainstream popular country for a brief period in the 40s/50s. Country was great until Garth Brooks, although it's actually Clinton's fault (has to do with anti trust legislation in the radio sector).
I've been on the Bluegrass kick ever since I got turned onto Lynyrd Skynyrd back in the early eighties and heard the song Four Walls of rainford and.. Made in the shade.. but The SteelDrivers especially the song rainbows never die really got me into Bluegrass big time.. and I grew up listening to Slayer Exodus Venom Metallica Suicidal Tendencies The Sex Pistols it's funny how your taste change the older you get I'm 56 now
so funny to hear about styles being popular or unpopular. Some people will not dig Billy strings no matter what happens. Some won't dig Taylor Swift. Some won't dig Beyoncé. The real point is, so what? Have a good time with what you love, spread it around, and keep looking for that high lonesome sound. Noting the Billy strings is nothing like pure Bluegrass. He goes all over the freaking place and you all know it.
Nothin like a good 'hog callin'session.Main stream? For a second I thought Bill wás back.hmmm,..no.A brief revival,..then it will disappear ,never to be heard again.I pick a pretty mean guitfid myself. There is a very different kind of music soon to be heard, too soon,I fear. What's that I hear, ringing in my ears?Is that the sound of freedom, falling?😢.When will we ever learn?
