Just made me go and add this to my Apple Music playlist. Can’t believe it came out one year after I was born in 1974. I wish they still made music like this.
My Ron came up to me one night after I got off work and he said there’s a song I want you to hear. This is the song that became his song too me. Love that man Ron Walker
Been looking for this great song forEVER!!! One of the Best of the '70's. It's what any & every woman would LOVE a man to say to her...I know "I" would!!!!!! Thank u SO much, RU-vid!!
I can't swear to this but, I'm pretty sure that I read an article about Billy Swan being in the "Elvis Presley Circle." He may have played as a studio musician or something in a similar role. Billy did quite an innovative version of "Don't Be Cruel." It's quite well done and there seemed to have been several other links between the two of them. I wish that I had more definitive info to support Billy's history.
I remember my Grandma bought me the 45 of "Fairytale" by The Pointer Sisters & this one for her. She always rubbed it in that her choice was a bigger hit, because I was really into the Top 40. I ended up with both of them anyway. I miss my Grandma. This song will always remind me of her
I sure remember this record....Was released in late '74 but played on the A.M. radio dials at the new year (1975)... Nice touch done here by DJDCat! :----)
That was top notch! Even better than the album version. Disco Cat, thank you for working on one of my favorite songs from when I was in high school and making it even better.
I don't think I'd commented on this yet...but I was aware of your upload of it. I've played it several times. I was a little feller when this song came out in 74, but it's one of the few songs that I have recognizance of from back then...Billy Swan was on his game. Thank you for this reworking of it. You did it proud, Cat. 👍
A large dog was in the studio while they were recording it, that is why the clapping, etc., at the end. You see, the dog had been casually gnawing on Billy's leg the whole time he did the take that made the cut, the one heard on the radio. Not only top-40 stations, but some country stations played this too.
A quien no le gusto está canción y una muy buena voz 🤣😃 yo nunca aprendí inglés pero me gusta mucho 😸😌 su música , muchas bendiciones 🙏 para todos saludos desde Mexicali BC México
I have been to the Underworld 7 years to retrieve some keys... Do you know what the keys was for?........... All the keys i needed to become a better person was given to me💌
Man, I had this record on 7 inch I think I still have it or I should say my mom and dad had it but I have their records now. They didn’t keep them in the best shape. But I love the old-school records matter fact, I still collect records today Hi DJ, more for myself than anything these days I actually have about six sets of Dj equipment. If you go to my channel, you could see some of them, but I no longer do it professionally but I still love to actually DJ I may add some of that to my channel if anyone’s interested
Funny, Coincidentally, Honestly, I, TOO, thought this song, when I first heard it, thought it was Ringo (Starr), as well. Sorry, Ringo!! Sorry, Mr. Swan!!!! My bad...oops!!
Actually, the single version ends that way, the album version repeats the instrumental portion with its false ending, abd then it repeats as it fades out. Please make a note of it. Thanks.
