Billy the maestro of the twin saxes. Always brings goose bumps on me when I hear his music. So distinctive and unique sound same as Hank Marvin's guitar. R I P Billy, there never will be another you.
My dad would listen to him, while fixing breakfast, sipping on his whiskey. On good weekends, he'd dance with mama. And it was such nice Sunday morning's. Won't talk about the bad days. Love Billy Vaughn. Miss those good laid back Sunday Mornings, with my parents!!!!! :)
Liked his music when I first heard him as a teenager sixty years ago. Sixty years later still enjoying his music. Ths ks for posting Billy Vaughn and his Orchestra music
The Billy Vaughan music was a great hit in India, and it used to be broadcasted from radio Ceylon, and in Calcutta we could hear it during the lunch hour -the lunchtime variety ,the good old days of St Pauls school 5 scott lane Calcutta where my father Mr HS Lall was the Principal
My husband and I love billy vaughn music. we grew up on his music. thank you very much for posting his music. brings back a lot of memories. beautiful music.
This song is SO GREAT! I remember on the show M*A*S*H this song was being played by Klinger. My respects to all Korean war veterans and all Americans who serve dour country. All wars and current service. Thank you
Thanks for this great classic and "peppy" rendition of Harbor Lights. Wonderful instrumentation. I love this song's version by Billy Vaughn because it is a perfect foxtrot tempo for ballroom dancing! My favorite vocal rendition is by the Platters but unfortunately it is too slow for foxtrot.
As a kid in the 50's/60's I loved Billy Vaughn. Gosh, that mellow saxophone sound of his orchestra was just wonderful. Billy Vaughn, a 'classic', from a 'golden era' of American music.
You know, at that Time when Billy Vaughn was making young and old dance, be happy, there were sincerity, honesty and other virtues in the air. Love was at every corner of the roads. There were no killings, no Terrorists, etc. The World was a safe place to live. Today, if it were possible, I would shout "Stop the World and let me off !".
Beautiful melody that reaches the soul of those who know how to appreciate the feeling that these musical notes give when they are performed by beings who make music with their hearts. Greetings from Venezuela. Thank you veeeery much for this memory. When I was young my father always heard Billy Vaughn but I never knew the real tune names cos we had only a tape and no LPs !
One of those fine and somewhat moody song in an excellent instrumental version. The lyrics as far as I remember said in part "but you were on the ship and I was on the shore". It is sad to be left behind by a lover but sometimes there is no choice as we all have ties. Very nice to hear in this era when much of what is purported to be music is just noise.
Ke cancion tan maravillosa me hase recordar mi pueblo kerido citlaltepetl veracruz y en espesial a el poder de la comunicacion ke utilisa este fondo de musica saludos
WE used to sing the lyrics of this song when I was in School in the music and chant class. I did not get fully what I was singing as I was a child then only nine or ten but it brings to me pleasant memories of my childhood.
It sure would be nice if someone who doesn't like this would inform us as to WHY? I grew up with this fabulous sound and have always appreciated Billy Vaughn.
