Just a kuddo -- I am simply blown away by the quality of your DIY videos -- complete! step by step is completely clear! Oh, my gosh -- this is so good. Thank you! I'm on board for many mods to my F32! Thank you!!
Sad to see a luxury brand like Bmw making cars without backup cameras in 2017 when lesser makes offer this standard. Good news is all cars manufactured to be sold in the USA after May 2018 must have a rear camera by as required by law.
Timestemps: Multimedia Interface 0:25 MMI Rear View Camera 5:52 Front View Camera 11:56 Smart View 18:32 Good Video, but it would be nice to have the timestamps in description to be able to click on them and not only in the intro. Greetings
Hi there i have 328xi drive 2014 she doesn't have the parking sensor how much it cost if I want only parking sensors or back camera to buy it pls if u have time to give me an answer thnx buy the way great video
Hello Don! Thanks) We're working hard to produce useful and great videos :) Now about your question 1. We offer an OEM Park Distance Control retrofit. It can be installed onto the rear of your BMW, or front, or both. You can read more about it here www.bimmer-tech.net/shop/bmw-3-series-f30-f31-f34-f80/park-assist-retrofits/pdc-park-distance-control-retrofit-oem. 2. We have 3 types of backup cameras - Rear View Camera MMI, Rear View Camera OEM Integration, Rear View Camera OEM. If you don't have PDC (park distance control), you can purchase a rear view camera MMI (this is a BimmerTech original product). It doesn't require PDC to work and the camera image will be full screen on your iDrive display. Here is how it works (demo from a client) - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8oY5S_oYEu4.html, and here is the installation video - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SksfQZnKILg.html. 3. If you want to have a PDC in your car, then you can choose between rear view camera OEM (a BMW original one) and rear view camera OEM integration (aftermarket BimmerTech camera but works with PDC). You can find out more about the cameras here www.bimmer-tech.net/bmw-rear-view-cameras/. Just type in your VIN and the webpage will show you what your car is compatible with. If you want some technical advice, write an email with your VIN and yoru query to info@bimmer-tech.net. Hope that helps :)
Hi! The OEM camera is only compatible with vehicles with navigation. You're going to need the MMI camera. You can confirm compatibility with your F31 by entering your VIN here: bimmer-tech.net/bmw-rear-view-cameras/ Thanks!
It's a good camera, the only issue I have is when I input the sim card into my PC for downloadingt, I can only see the front view and not the rear view but in the car I can see both. Any tips please?
+Eco Ri The resolution is 480p. Yes, it will have sound. More details about the product you can find here: www.bimmer-tech.net/shop/bmw-3-series-f30-f31-f34-f80/connecteddrive-retrofits/bimmertech-smartview
+BimmerTech I was under the impression that RCA's maximum resolution was 480i. Also is the mode selection button necessary? Seems like Menu(3sec hold) and 8 does the same thing.
+Eco Ri If you have additional questions regarding the product please contact our team by sending an e-mail to info@bimmer-tech.net They will answer all your questions!
Hello there! There are several ways for each device. And it depends on which port you will plug the device into on the MMI module. In the video you have the text that explains how each port is responsible for a separate button/section prntscr.com/mdrvzc
Brian just installed mine today quick question with audio not getting sound when using Netflix app on AppleTV get pic no sound. Get sound on ESPN app..any suggestions
I installed this on my son's f30 2 years ago. He loves it. I need some help getting it set back up. When in reverse it was showing 3/4 camera and a 1/4 menu on the display. I was trying to get it back to full screen. Now the camera doesn't come on in reverse. It just show full screen menu. I didn't mess with anything except the joystick on console. Thanks please help.
hi i am really interested to install MMI Rear View Camera, Front View Camera and SmartView Installation so where can i buy everything and how much its cost thanks
Hi Brian! I was wondering if Bimmertech or anyone else makes an OEM looking dash cam? I was hoping someone makes a housing that looks just like the review mirror housing, but with a camera. If not, any other discrete dash cam for an F30 would be awesome
Hey there! Unfortunately, we don't have dash cams. But we have an OEM rear view camera from BMW. If you type your VIN here www.bimmer-tech.net/bmw-rear-view-cameras/, the website will show you whether it's compatible with your car.
Hi, visit www.bimmer-tech.net/bmw-rear-view-cameras/ and enter your VIN to see all options available for your BMW or contact us with your VIN number at info@bimmer-tech.net and we will tell you what camera is the best for your BMW! :)
The head unit on my car is twice the size of the unit in the video. There is no room behind the head unit for the MMI and all of the harnesses and wiring. Where can I install the MMI?
+Harris if you have already bought your camera and have this issue, please contact us at info@bimmer-tech.net and we will help you with the installation. If you consider buying and have some concerns you can also contact us and our sales team will answer all your questions.
Hey there! If you bought one of the above mentioned products from us, please contact our tech specialists at support@bimmer-tech.net with your VIN and order number.
Hi Dushan. Sure, if you're only looking for a front-view camera, you can find our kit here: www.bimmer-tech.net/shop/bmw-3-series-f30-f31-f34-f80/park-assist-retrofits/front-view-camera-retrofit This leaves your original rear-view camera and parking sensors intact, it's only adding a front-view camera. If you have an F30 like in the video, you may prefer this version of the kit: www.bimmer-tech.net/shop/bmw-3-series-f30-f31-f34-f80/park-assist-retrofits/grill-friendly-front-view-camera which features a special camera designed to clip between the slats of the front grille. Thanks!
Hello there! No-no, you just add a separate multimedia module (MMI) which plays the role of a medium between your iDrive and the retrofits. Cameras and SmartView are connected to the MMI, and the MMI is connected to your head unit.
Hi NewYorkMan36 , Please contact our Team at info@bimmer-tech.net and they will check compatibility for you. Please include the last 7 characters of your VIN #.

Oh my god it actually worked. Thank Ese - I can't believe I was able to cram ALL THAT EXTRA WIRE in there. Not a millimeter to spare. Now my GF can drive my car lol jk ese jk
Well, Bryan loves doing this kind of work, just take a look at all the stuff he does on his channel: ru-vid.com ;-) And if you don't feel like doing it yourself, you can always put your feet up and let Bryan or another of our Authorized Dealers do the hard work for you: www.bimmer-tech.net/dealers
Or... OR... You can buy the equipment from BimmerTech, and spend an afternoon installing yourself. Then you'd save a few thousand dollars. But oh well, money grows on trees.
Hi Ricky, you can drop an email with your VIN to our support team at support@bimmer-tech.net and they'll let you know the right settings for your car. Thanks!
@@bimmer-tech your kit came with a grey wire coming from one of the connectors on the back up camera kit i googled it and found it needed to be spliced into the second plug on the module inside the trunk (on the right above the battery) and spliced into the black wire with blue stripe. it worked fine the first four times the car was started, but now i just get a black screen on the idrive screen (and the mmi will click on, then click again and turn off), but when i disconnect the system or the 5 amp fuse on the bimmertech mmi, the idrive will turn back on and act normal again.
We had Bryan ask the masses: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ezdoKxSfQTQ.html and, in the interests of respecting democracy, we went with the result of the popular vote. Beeeeemer it is :-)
