Binary - The SIMPLEST explanation of Counting and Converting Binary numbers

In this video we look at the Binary number system. Our jumping off point is comparing and contrasting it to the Decimal number system, which is already familiar to us. This makes understanding Binary much simpler.
We then learn how to count in binary, and how counting in Binary is actually very similar to counting in decimal.
Then we look at the details around why Binary conversions work the way they do. Form there, we look at a simple and fast way to convert from Binary to Decimal, and to convert from Decimal to Binary.
Finally, we take tie everything back together when we look at an IPv4 address, solidifying some key lessons we learned along the way.

Thr binary table doesn't apply for huge decimal numbers? I tried to convert 666 using the table but it was incorrect

@@asajjad8656 Computers work in Binary. Hexadecimal and Decimal are simply ways of representing binary values that are easier for Humans.

I started my cs50 course at Harvard without any knowledge of computer science. Now in our lecture, they tackle and explain this binary counting because they use it to program or code but I need an in-depth lecture about it so thank you Practical Networking for creating a lecture that is so easy to understand. I just want to say that this video is incredibly helpful, and I appreciate you making this. I've seen many videos that cover portions of what you did, but you encapsulated the subject as a whole, ensuring the viewer understands all angles of what's happening. This type of learning is super beneficial for a learner like myself, who needs to understand the "why" behind the "how".

precisely: I have trouble in math because all we learn is what equations to use...Then the teacher gets mad when I ask ''but WHY do we do that?" I would rather learn *how* to build the equations, and then build my on on the day of the test/afterwards.

This is one of the best videos I've watched on RU-vid. This should have millions of views and likes. I had a couple of aha 🤯🧠 moments as I watched. Not only I now have clear understanding of this subject, but I also learned the reasoning behind the sizes in RAM, disk drives, all many of the numbers that deal with computers. Finally a video that matches its title! I am a slow learner, I get through classes like these through memorization. But now I actually understand what is going on. You have me counting in binary at work, when I am driving my car, walking my dog...I think I am starting to see 0's and 1's everywhere, haha. Thank you for taking the time to explain this for free on the internet, I am sure it took a lot of effort...It is very much appreciated
