Saw igloo when we visited the zoo on our trip to Australia. The keepers were laying new grass and igloo kept following the men wanting loves. We have more video of igloo then we do playing with the Joeys. Loved your play house Bindi. Loved the zoo and can’t wait to visit when we can travel back to Australia. BEST ZOO in the world.

Igloo is utterly adorable 🤗💚 ...and possibly even moreso is Bindi and Chandler's relationship 💘 I can hear the Australian accent starting to creep into his vowels here and there 😄 ..Bindi and Chandler dated long distance for 3 years before they were able to actually be together .....My longtime bf is from Canberra. Steve was always my hero, no matter where he was. Their love and passion for animals and nature inspires me with my wildlife conservation career. But I'm also inspired by the transcontinental love that the Irwins seem to be prone to. This is OUR Earth and we should all act like we're on it together! No matter the species or place nor way, we need to have love, gumption and passion that transcends our own backyard and extends to our fellow beings, to connect and make this world a happier one to live in. 🌎🌍🌏💝✌️

Such incredible animals! I've heard theories that the reason aldabra's actively stick their necks all the way out and hold themselves in one position for scratches is because in the wild they will often get ticks, which are a great food source for birds, so the tortoises will allow the birds to come in close and pluck the ticks off of them. It makes complete sense, it's a mutually beneficial relationship, the tortoises can't do anything to get rid of the ticks themselves so they they let birds pick them off to relieve them of irritating parasites, and in turn the birds get an easy meal.

I would love to be able to hang out with some of the animals at this zoo! I've always been more comfortable around animals than people and have enjoyed handling a good array of indoor pets, outdoor pets, and wildlife thanks to watching nature shows & reading up on targeted animals to learn the right & wrong ways to approach and introduce myself to best put the animals at ease around me! :)

I adore him. I didn't know they liked their necks being scratched (people never believed me when I said they could feel through their shell.) I've seen smaller ones in our zoo in Santa Barbara, California.

I clearly didn’t learn much as you can’t even differentiate a turtle from a tortoise. To clear it up for you tortoises are primarily terrestrial whereas turtles are usually more aquatic

No they are completely herbivorous meaning they do not eat meat of any sort and their diet consists of primarily vegetation.

They’re not actually the biggest tortoise species in the world they are the second biggest tortoise species in the world the biggest in the Galapagos tortoise
