I love hearing the announcers talk about the potential knowing how it panned out. Check out the ASG ABs episode when Aaron gets up to bat, they talk about him chasing Ruth, classic. Appreciate the watch and comment Brian!

I always like to watch a hitter for a full at bat. Yaz had a great at bat and I liked the way he took a full cut every time. I was too young to truly understand Oliva as a hitter. I wanted to watch the at bat. Seaver was always loose and powerful on the mound. Lots of movement on his fastball and then he would throw the slow curve and make the hitters knees collapse. This was so much fun to watch!

I love those old Cleveland Indian's uniforms from the 60s! They were amazing! Tremendous nostalgia!

That's Seaver's battery mate, Jerry Grote, behind the plate. Grote was the starting catcher for the NL in this game.

@@BIU2330I saw it on TV as a 10 year old. I loved Seaver and the Mets and of course what NY kid didn’t know about the exploit’s of The Mick. The magnitude of the moment escaped me being so young. However, in retrospect, it was a Future Cy Young HOF Pitcher, “The Franchise”, “Tom Terrific” battling the certain HOF great, “The Mick”, “The Commerse Comet” Even though it was an exhibition/ All Star game, it’s a Great Moment. I loved it in real time, but appreciate it even more now.

My first baseball game in person was just a couple months before this: 5/12/68 at Wrigley Field. Cubs 4, Mets 3.

I'm a New Yorker; I saw Tom Seaver at Shea lots of times in the '70s. The other pitchers are legends too, though: Don Drysdale, Juan Marechal, Steve Carlton. Why does it seem that the players in MLB today can't touch these legendary guys for charisma, personality, and individuality?

Been seeing a lot of these games between 2-3 hours, closer to the 2. I guess pitchers worked deeper, less righty/lefty strategy to slow it down.

This was baseball like it was meant to be played. NO STUPID DH, NO BIGGER BASES. NO STUPID RULE WHEREBY THE PITCHER CANNOT THROW MORE THAN THREE TIMES TO FIRST BASE TO HOLD THE RUNNER. NO STUPID RUNNER AT 2B WHEN GOING INTO XTRA INNINGS. NO OVERPAID STARTERS WHO CAN'T GO PAST THE 5TH OR 6TH INNING. NO DAMM PITCH CLOVK.

Appreciate the comment and perspective Jose....some of these games I have been looking at were played in only 2-3 hours, so much shorter than I remember. I like the pitch clock. No sure anymore about the ghost runner.

I gave up on baseball years ago. Tom Seaver was one of my earliest baseball heroes ( oh the heady days of 1969) so that's why I'm watching this. Tom was so talented and hard playing man. He bumped Willie Mays as my #1 player. I still loved Willie though.RIP Tom.
