“ATE” means older sister. That’s a tagalog word. We use “ATE” when we are talking to older sister/older woman, as a sign of respect

Dude, you missed the part where Sheena told the story of how her mother died during the pandemic and while they were in training. Sheena wasn’t even able to go to the wake since her mother was in the province. When Sheena got there, her mon was already buried.

They are still under ABS-CBN. That is the parent company of Star Music. The company just lost the franchise to broadcast in free TV so they shutdown all their stations in all the Philippines island, including their FM and AM radio. It has something to do with politics. The company was not in good terms with the sitting president back then. But who needs free TV when we have internet. I do not watch television anymore.

ABS-CBN is still exist to day although they had no franchise to oporate in to the tv seens but as a entertainment compony they made their compony as a content creating and their contents are being showed in the tv channels that have a franchise. bini and karen davila is in the same compony ABS-CBN so copyright is not an issue to them. in the times of covid ABS-cbn has shotdown but they continued to support bini that's why all bini members is greatful to them

Sorry man. I didn't realize it was a 30+ min interview when I started and about 12 minutes in, I had already learned so much about them vs a previous interview. Had no idea anything I was skipping was "the best part" as I had never seen it before. Will rename this Pt1 and do Pt 2 tomorrow.

you would not have known so it's not your fault haha but i think folks would've rather have you skipped the parts you watched and watched the ones you skipped. they were waiting on your reaction on the individual struggle part, about some of their families not being able to eat, someone's mom passing away during training around peak covid when no one can travel, being really poor and families having debt, being raised by single moms. basically the reason why they are the nation's group because so many people can relate. inspirational parts ya know. again though, you would not have known all of that haha

ABS-CBN was not renewed for its franchise for free airwaves (TV and Radio) because of political reasons as the government at that time conspired against them. This forced the network to just become a content creator online and even partnered with their rival networks so that some of their shows can still be seen on Free TV. But still they are the one who manages Bini (under their subsidiary Star Music) and they were not given up in spite of this situation plus it was also the start of the pandemic where everyone is crumbling to survive. Karen Davila is a known journalist and broadcaster also of ABS-CBN. "Ate" is pronounced as "Ah-Teh" which means older sister or older female and is used as a sign of respect. It is just like a title like "Mr. or Ms." It is equivalent of '"Unnie" in Korean. If you had not skipped some parts of the interview especially their backstories, maybe your rating on this would be 20/10 😅

Karen Davila works as a veteran news anchor for ABS-CBN, a TV network in the Philippines. Coincidentally BINI is managed by Director Lauren Dyogi (Pinoy BIG BROTHER) of ABS-CBN.

No they don't change management, the company didn't really stopped operating the shutdown only happened on their free TV broadcast because of politics our ex Philippine President had personal grudge to the company owners, so our ex Philippine President ordered the Congress to not renewed the broadcast licence to free TV operations of ABS-CBN, but the company as whole still operating as content provider and they retained their cable TV operations because it does need Congress licence to operate, and now ABS-CBN have partnerships with other media companies here in the Philippines.
