*I think* what Binibining #8 Nicole Budol said during the timestamp 10:20 is "Brotherhood, or sisterhood, that is what I learned from Binibining Pilipinas. Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach taught us that we need to unite, most especially for our country. There is no color that would bind us, but only a single color will prevail, and that is the color brown, the color of us Filipinos."
And to add more context why she emphasized "Iisang kulay lamang ang dapat mamayagpag" or "Only a single color should prevail" is because here in PH, Filipinos were divided through colors during the recent national elections. Colors which were associated with the politicians whom they supported.
the aetas, balugas, the atis and the negritos are not brown they are BLACK. and being with their skin color, they are more filipinos than us kayumanggis. who ever canned that answer for Hipon should have done thorough research.

Catriona looks really amazing and I was shocked with that huge earrings, the queen being so iconic again. The guys in the opening production were "SB19", dubbed as PPop Kings. They gave their modern take on the competition's theme song. And yeah, they are professionals and even nominated on Billboard.

I think we never got a definitive answer on why CJ didn't make it to the top 12, but the most plausible explanation I've heard so far is that Binibining Pilipinas favors women who are versatile, meaning they can compete for a couple of different crowns. In the case of CJ, they say she is a contender for the Grand title... and sadly, nothing else. That explanation makes sense to me, although I don't necessarily agree with the organization putting a premium on that kind of versatility.
Hmm Herlene also favored the Miss Grand title, and of the four titles she would be most suited for MGI. Yet she made it as far as 1st RU. So it's still sad for CJ or am I missing something..
@@MercedezXxXxx I fully get what you're saying, but if you look at pageantologists" predictions, there were several who were saying that Herlene could also be sent to Ms. intercontinental and Ms. Globe (especially Globe because the organizer said Globe would like their queen to be an effective influencer). Also, if you look at Herlene's performances, they were never over the top. They were actually on the elegant/delicate side. I loved CJ's performances, but I found them over the top, suitable only for Grand. Maybe that's what caused her to miss the Top 12.

This is the same thing for Graciella. Budol actually fits The Ms Globe and MGI both of which are looking for influencers (she half a million IG followers, 2M YT subscribers). And if you've noticed, almost all of the Top 12 are on the fairer side, only Batangas can be considered morena. Bataan is the type of beauty that MSA favord while Cebu is said to be very easy to work with and follows all the rules.

Even us avid Pageant fans are shock that Zambales or miss CJ Opiaza didn't make it to top 12 💔 her overall performance was outstanding from pasarela down to her communication skills 💯

I watched other challenges to see how CJ did not placed. I believe her downfall was during QnA challenge. She didn't do bad. She didn't even messed up but other girls were killing it when it comes to QnA skills and personality. Some of ladies who didn't make finals wasn't bad. Its just a tight competition for 40 binibinis where you really have to fight to the death just to take one spot in the top 12.
But how come other girls who are not that good at performance and also the level of their speaking ability was just so so but even placed instead of her that gave a very obvious outstanding performance during the press presentation? I think it was all planned CJ can be a threat to other girls and might get the Grand International crown but for some reason, they eliminate her because one crown has already been reserved for someone, just a theory. But I am happy for Roberta, she deserves it tho. But I'm just sad for CJ not entering the top 12.
@@emmanuelhabitan7908 I think it's because of the standards? The top crown is Miss International so they'll be looking for girls who have the prototype of MI. I know we have MGI crown but I don't think MGI caliber is the top priority in this pageant. In Miss Universe Philippines, sure she'll definitely enter the top 10 but not in this one. Im just glad that CJ is hinting to join another pageant tho.

Hi I'm part of zambales team, Cj Opiaza's makeup artist , thankyou so much for appreciating, but we are shock as you, we really didn't know what happened but shes very kind, she's always on time and she didnt sabotage anything, we are really broken hearted, maybe because she's an independent candidate that's why they didn't let her in the semifinals but still that's not should be a problem, She PERFORMED on every single event of binibining Pilipinas, and we believed that, that's gonna be the basis of picking the top 12 but we dont know what happened maybe they just pick the top 12 from the bpci favorite girls list :)

I believe they picked the right girls for these crowns but I can't deny that I'm so disappointed that both CJ and Graciella didn't make the cut. The backstage presenter is Samantha Bernardo. Also a Bb. Pilipinas queen, and Ms. Grand 2020 1st RU. One of the best pageant stage performer I must say.
I honestly had a very hard time enjoying the whole show bcos they didn't include CJ on Top 12. Now I'm just hoping she gets to join Miss Universe Philippines or Miss World pH and get to represent our country in the future.
It's looking more and more likely that Ms. Grand Philippines will be a standalone pageant in 2023. I think CJ should join. Because of her flamboyant perfromances, I think she doesn't have a very good chance of winning a title at MWP, moreso the lone title at MUPH.
The slippers for children statement of Ms Tarlac is based on the fact that in the Philippines a lot of people, children mostly, still can't afford to have/buy a new pair of slippers or any type of footwear, specially in the farflung areas as well as the slums. This is very true as some celebrities and NGOs made it an advocacy to distribute slippers to children in impoverish areas of the Philippines. Much more if we talk about food, many families can't even have 3 decent meals a day.
Pia Wurtzbach said in one of her interviews that she had to completely recalibrate her trainings and preparations for Miss Universe, because her training for Binibining Piliinas is a completely different thing. Whereas Miss Universe looks for that certain level of fierceness and confidences, Binibining Pilipinas still prefers the much more conservative/delicate type of performance. This to me is the reason why CJ did not make it: she was too fierce and too extra for the taste level of the organization. Had she toned it several notches down, im confident she would have made it to the Top 12.
The last question asked was "the difference between a historian or a Marites? "Marites" is a term used by Filipinos to describe a person who Gossips a lot.

Binibining Pilipinas chooses the queens based the prototype of the international pageants and not just on the actual scores which is why there is a deliberation after all the segments.
BBP is always doing this. They always hurt my feelings. I remember Justine from last year not entering the semis despite her outstanding performance and now they did it to CJ again.😭

Here in the Philippines, the "Marites" refers to people who loooove to gossip and just spread rumors (and maybe distort facts). You were right that it wasnt elaborated enough to differentiate the two, but it can also be easily understood what marites already meant by how she defined a historian (to those who already know what it means).
The winners of Miss Globe PH and Miss Intercontinental PH both have a big shoe to fill in for a possible BACK TO BACK win. I definitely agree with what you said about indigenous Filipinas not getting crowns. GHENISIS LATUGAT, MISS BAGUIO at Miss Universe Philippines is a member of the indigenous group. I'm still bummed that she didn't win. But there were previous winners like Miss Supranational Mutya Datul is a member of the Ibanag group.
@@damiyalovelo8076 beatrice gomez isn’t bi-racial, as far as i know, and she is miss universe philippines 2021. i also do want to see more non bi-racial filipino to represent the philippines in the international pageant stage but after all, a national pageant is still a pageant competition with criteria and scores and whoever’s the best that night must win the crown-regardless of their race, gender, age, body type, skin color. if the biracials did their best and they’re clearly better than all of the amazing ladies that night including the non biracials then who are we to deny them the crown just because we want a non biracial to win? 🙂
