@@boonejbruce Really? You do? I mean, okay!!! So basically, this campaign has elements inspired by One Piece, but the world itself is its own setting. The story basically is that a god named Etrian saved the world from a demon infestation, and he grants random mortals his demon-slaying power (AKA we have class levels lol). Thus, Ronia (a world government), in order to follow in Etrian's legacy, gathers up all those blessed by the god and drafts them into a "praetor organization." Basically, WE'RE FORCED TO BE THE MARINES. At least half of the party was taken from their homes to join this group, and most of us hate being here, but everyone in the group has become very close with one another, so we're like our own little crew! One of our jobs was to track down and capture a very powerful pirate by the name of Ricardo. We expected a ruthless killer and trash-talker, but he actually turned out to be a very sweet man! He related with my characters on a lot of fronts, especially how much he values his own freedom. He even offered to take my character (Leilani) on his crew, since he knew what she was going through. Even though he HATES praetors. But in the end... my character Leilani would never abandon her friends, and he respected that. In the end, he was captured and sent to be hanged. You see though, my character Leilani grew to like him because of how kind he was to her. He even took the time to hint at hidden treasures he may have had for her to go on adventures for! So when he died... she was actually really hurt. I had this song playing at that moment. With Leilani sat down before the hanging podium, staring up at what happened. Something everyone else in the party was shocked by, because the rest of the group HATES pirates. But despite that, when they saw how Leilani was doing, one by one, they approached her with a hug, because they knew how important this was to her. This group is friends forever I tell you.

@@thebleachgod6890 I LOVE this story! I miss playing D&D so much. I was in a pirate campaign for quite some time, but I had to take a leave of absence. I worked with my DM to have my character exit with a great story. My swashbuckler had a very vivid dream where he was offered power to get revenge on the man responsible for burning his village and taking his family. He foolishly accepted, even though the rest of the crew have major distrust of warlocks. I took levels in secret, and told my dm that I'd like to have them select my spells and keep that stuff hidden from me, to give the feeling of learning about the new powers. Big mistake. We had just come back to find our base of operations had been attacked by the BBEG, leaving us to find random survivors, but also losing so many NPCs we cared about. We ended up at the tavern, now converted into a makeshift camp for the village. A young kid came up to us, asking to join the crew. I told him to get lost, that he wasn't strong enough to survive out there. He got upset, and decided to prove himself by throwing a rock at Tybalt (my character)'s head. My DM shot me a look, and I knew what that meant. Hellish Rebuke triggered, and the child was reduced to ash. After a chase and crew meeting, Tybalt suggested that he needed to leave, to learn how to control his new powers. A frenemy (I liked him, the rest of the crew thought he was gross) offered to take me on board. After a tearful goodbye, he rode off into the sunset. I found out later that during the climax of the campaign, Tybalt and The Eel (the gross guy) showed up with a small fleet of pirates to help the heroes in the final battle.
