I'll do you one better -- what about taking the brain of an animal, simulating that actual brain in a computer, & using that brain simulation to run a robot body? They've done exactly that with a flatworm. Somewhere out there, there's a flatworm brain that doesn't know it isn't real running a completely non-organic (non-flatworm) body.
