When I was in the Australian Army I went on an overnight bivouac in deep rain forest at the Mebbin Sawmill at the top of the Tweed Range in northern New South Wales, as training for deployment to the war zone in South Vietnam .. we were not allowed any sort of light. After sunset watching possums gliding from tree to tree before the sky clouded over and pitch blackness descended, the floor of the forest became a myriad of phosphorescence, white luminescence appeared on decaying vegetation and leaf litter everywhere. A huntsman spider maybe seven inches across its legs and the lines on its back outlined in luminous green, had established a courtyard surrounded by a truly magnificent garden of multicolored, luminescent fungus castles and palaces. The display lasted only a relatively short time, thus after going to sleep when I woke hrs later the forest floor was dark.
👍🥰🙏 Hallelujah Amen this video is so lovely Beautiful ❤️. What does light symbolize. In the Bible light has always been a symbol of Holiness, Goodness, Knowledge, Wisdom, Grace, Hope, and God's revelation.
Love the video but Questions. One does the projector have to be that big. Can this be made to project on different trees with multiple projectors. And have them all turn on simultaneously. Like in a back yard or pool area. I'm hoping to one day make a bioluminescent back yard. If anybody has any idea how this could be done pls reply with ideas. Thank you
Hi my name's Draz and I make music to go along with creative films set in nature. I'm only small time now but I was wondering if I could use the first half of this film for a song.
The projection mapping "bioluminescent forest" is made by artists Friedrich van Schoor and Tarek Mawad. The artists spent six weeks in the forest fascinated by the silence and natural occurrences in nature, especially the phenomenon "bioluminescence". They personified the forest to accentuate the natural beauty by creating luring luminescent plants and glowing magical mushrooms that speaks volumes to any visitor that enters the minds of the artists through viewing "bioluminescent forest".
The video is somewhat cool (at least, some parts), but I agree, they could have at least, try to mimic a little better true bioluminescence (unless their objective is entirely different, which is really not that clear to me). Actually bioluminescence can be much more extensive than this video shows (some forest floors can light up over considerable distances, for example and we also have the oceans, of course, which harbor the most fantastic and diverse types of bioluminescent displays (actually even more strange and complex than this video shows)). If this video is all (or nearly all) about art and imagination on bioluminescence, then that should be made a little bit more explicit, from the beginning. However, maybe I´m wrong and the fakeness is way too evident and many people came here (like me) to see true bioluminescence (or at least something made up but more similar to real bioluminescence). Maybe that´s not the objective of this video at all, but I think that if it was, maybe it would have more success. Just my 5 cents.
