BioShock Infinite - FINAL BATTLE ON 1999 MODE (EASIEST WAY)

In this video I show you some tips on how to successfully complete the "final battle" section at the end of BioShock Infinite in 1999 mode. Make sure to make good use of the "Return to Sender" and "Possession" Vigors as well as the Songbird like I do in the video and you'll be good to go. Good luck!
BioShock Infinite is a first-person shooter video game and the third installment in the BioShock series. Previously known as "Project Icarus", it is being developed by Irrational Games and was released worldwide on the Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 platforms on March 26, 2013. BioShock Infinite is not part of the storyline of previous BioShock games but features similar gameplay concepts and themes.
Set in 1912 during the growth of American Exceptionalism, the game's protagonist, former Pinkerton agent Booker DeWitt, is sent to the floating air-city of Columbia to find a young woman, Elizabeth, who has been held captive there for the last twelve years. Though Booker rescues Elizabeth, the two are pursued by the city's warring factions; the nativist and elite Founders that strive to keep the city for pure Americans, and the Vox Populi, a rebel grouping representing the common people. Booker finds Elizabeth to be central to this conflict, and that she also holds strange powers to manipulate rifts in the time-space continuum that ravage Columbia.

Since then the game was updated. I think now the Patriots never stop. I tried to do it your way but the Patriots legit never stop unless you destroy the Zeppelin

@@theKGB1000 Skill issue? what do you mean? It is clearly a bug. It did it with me too. Patriots just kept coming in waves of 2. Finally I had enough and restarted checkpoint. This time they only came 2 times, and I easily beat the fight. It must be a bug that sometimes happens.

THANK YOU. the patriots come in more waves in the remastered edition but this helped a LOT. putting return to sender around the "engine" thing allowed me to take my time taking out the other guys. Thanks :)

The sad part is I am just realizing that I could’ve been purchasing upgrades on other vending machines. Realizing NOT all of them are considered “Dollar Bill” ones. 😂😂😂 So needless to say I had a good amount of money at the end, then I realized how much easier it could’ve been. Was going for scavenger hunt, well foolish me like I said thought that meant you couldn’t purchase from anything! lol Thanks for the vid still helped a lot even in 2019 ✌️

Does anybody know if I go to the menu and replay the last chapter, before going to the last battle, its going to be in the 1999 mode? I want to buy all the vigors upgrade, and I am worried that if a start again the chapter is in medium mode, as this was the first time I played it. Thanks!

Thank you so much! I'm a complete newbie using an Xbox controller on 360, but I beat this stage on my 4th try on Normal by using your guide! I set up about 10 Return to Sender traps all around the blue light. I notice if you just set it at the front, they also come around and shoot it from behind. So I laid the traps 360 degrees around the blue light. And then I hung out on the ground floor, using Possession vigor mostly, so enemies would take each other out. When I would run out of health, I'd switch to Return to Sender to absorb all damage. I also used Return to Sender on Patriots a lot. My guns were sniper rifle and hail fire, my weapons of choice throughout the game. I eventually ran out of ammo with literally one enemy left, so I picked up a crank gun and finished him off! If I had known he was the last enemy, I could've just Possessed him so he'd commit suicide, but I thought I was only midway through the battle. But then it was all over! Wow!

SUPER EASY WAY!!!: Not only did I beat this part on my 1st try on 1999, I did it without taking damage once. Here's what you need: Fully maxed out salts, fully upgraded Charge vigor and the following gear: Burning Halo, Winter Shield, Brittle Skinned and the last one doesn't matter, but I used Vampire's Embrace just in case. All you do is ride the skyline and continuously do skyline strikes on the enemies. For the Patriots I used Charge to kill them quicker. This is, BY FAR, the easiest way to do this on 1999 mode. Enjoy!

Sadly, I don't have Charge vigor. I missed it. And I kept hoping to find it again, so I didnt buy it at vending machine, let alone upgrade. I barely had any money to upgrade my favorite weapons. I only found out you can possess vending machines for free money at the very end, gah...

This way is much easier than the video, I tried the video method 3 times and couldn't even come close. I beat it first try with your comment except I didn't even use charge. I put Return to Sender traps around the generator then equipped burning halo, winter shield, brittle skinned and newton's law (the last one is key, you can one-shot the Patriots with skyline drop attacks). All I had to do was kill the ground enemies while waiting for songbird to recharge to take out the zeppelins.

this more recent time I totally forgot about the return to sender traps. Idk how I ended up beating it only dying once and not having the generator get blown up. OR using the Songbird on the patriots. Must have been lucky.

i also find it helpful if you put shock jokey traps on the areas in front of the generator, behind the generator, and in the mid part of the ship to help with both patriots and grunts

THANK YOU for this! I had done it years ago and forgot about return to sender. Doing a replay now and this is easily the hardest part of 1999 mode, Lady Comstock was easy in comparison. Got it first try after remembering return to sender worked on the core thanks to your video!

@sakuratwister870 I only used traps on Lady Comstock during the last fight when I was low on ammo. I've never had trouble with her for some reason but this fight is a nightmare. I didn't have return to sender upgraded!

I just beat 1999 mode in 2 days of off and on playing. This battle is WAY more laid back than you remember it being lol. Soon as the fight starts, like the video says, throw the return to sender traps in front of the siphon! I beat this shit without even a 1/4 of the siphon being damaged. With the return to sender traps set, just pick off the bad guys with the RPG and shotgun. Use return to sender to keep damage off of you, and possess the rocket guys that appear on the sides of the ship. Use the bird on the patriots, wait it out, then hit the zeps after. I found that leaving one patriot left, prevents them from spawning again until you're done with the zeps. Your traps make it where they can't do shit to the siphon anyway, so just chill back and use the bird on the zeps, and take out everyone but one patriot. Once you're done with the zeps, take out that last patriot, and you're done.

That Winter Shield gear item is REALLY useful for 1999 mode when skylines are available since you can go back and forth between striking enemies and keeping yourself invincible (especially during handymen and patriot fights)

Wow! Helped alot, i beat it on the first try using this. Songbird on the patriots and return to sender in front of the generator are the most important. This is way better than the other videos about it, like the bs one that says you need the chain gun.

This worked perfectly and I also found a better way to take out the Patriots, use *Undertow* and reel them in when your uptop in the sniper area and for some reason the iron patriots will get "glitched" and can't move and then will blow up. You can then pick up the Crank gun.

Finally!!! 4 years after giving up i tried again, almost gave up again, shield is great! I just stood in front killing everyone with rpg and machinegun, yhrowing crows everywhere, songbird only used on ships. It was so easy once i figured out to use return to sender. Damn. 1999 next, this will be a walk in the park and I'll be damn glad to finish off the series. Except from my 1000 fails, I got it first try with the right strat. Thank you so much for this video. In 1999 mode return to sender is the OP weapon. Especially in this battle and lady comstocks. I didn’t know the ones on the ground would absorb bullets so when I did it I just charged all the patriots and used that while shooting anything I could find

I know this video is old, but for anyone that is looking for an easier way (NO WEAPON required + No Damage to the generator), then all you need are the following gears: Hat - Electric Punch Shirt - Winter Shield Pants - Fire Bird Boots - Newton's Law As for Vigors. I used Return to Sender (Maxed) and Possession (Maxed). The strategy: Place two Return to Sender (hold button/key) at the foot of the Generator. This is to absorb incoming bullets. Use Song bird on air ships and Zeppelins. As for ground troops (including Patriots), you just air strike them, and see them burn away. This is a 1-Hit KO btw. It also includes the enemies near the vicinity of the target. However, I think this is a glitch tho since weapon damage is way too low compared to this strategy. Hopefully this cheese strat helps newer players as much as it did to me.

literately just did this. took me three tries. But it's much better to put return to sender on the core rather than around it like you did in the beginning. When i did it i almost had a perfect run until the end when they started to expire. I only lost like 5-10% of its health. But still thanks a lot man

Did it! Not that you haven't said as much, but it really pays to take your time and focus on the enemies. Really clear them out before hitting the zeppelins, as it takes an age for the shields to return. I actually really lucked out. four of the patriots dropped at once, and one songbird did the trick on them. Thanks!

You absolute legend!!! The Return to Sender traps worked so well! I didn't have Possession upgraded at all so I just used Undertow to throw the RPG guys off the sides of the airship, and just used a sniper to headshot the Vox and blast at the Patriot's gears. Couldn't have done it without this video =D

Just did it first try, snipering did most the lifting with each patriot being taken down in five shots after a headshot and it's so fast it's near semi auto, I used the hand cannon tho because it had full ammo and is just absurdly powerful with the right gear and did melee too when things got hairy getting swarmed with guys the one time I had to get off the platform, one thing to note is you have to take out the big round rocket firing things under the zeppelins and you don't have to fret about them, just calmly keep the near semi auto lead injecting into the enemy and they'll OD at some point and Elizabeth kept me supplied perhaps she's meant to keep you almost constantly supplied in the end fight as she gave me stuff constantly and helped

Tip for the new version: Kill the patriots with songbird and rush to the zeppelin's core ignoring all the other enemies that are in the inside.

God tip! Had to use songbird just one time for patriots. And make sure to sometimes check that none of the soliders are hitting the blue thing from behind and refresh the shields sometime

guys, just cover the core itself by sticking the Return to Sender on it from all sides instead of throwing it on the railing in front of the core, doing so will made the core almost to completely Invincible!

Cheers for the vid man. Just wanted to ask, how many times do you have to lay the return to sender traps. Just the four that you originally drop or do you have to keep dropping them?

This traps you put it arround the ship´s core, do they last forever or you must go down and put it back again from time to time?

This apparently doesn't work anymore, I surrounded siphon with bullet bouncing ting but bullet just kept coming through

Okay here's what I used: Gear Rising Bloodlust + Ammo Advantage + Head Master + Overkill Weapons Sniper Rifle + Volley Gun (both fully upgraded, best replacing Volley Gun with Hail Fire if you can, since it's vastly superior despite the lesser ammo clips) Vigors Return to Sender + Possession (both fully upgraded) Strategy 1 - Just spam the return to sender traps all over the zeppelin's reactor core surface, not just on the floor around it; this should buy you some valuable time. 2 - Camp on that upper sniper nest as shown in the video 3 - Use Songbird strictly for targeting the Zeppelins and Boats 4 - Use Possession on the Patriots, because they will lose the focus on the reactor core and will target you instead, once the vigor's effect vanishes 5 - Occasionally use the skylines to patrol the lower floor for gunners and patriots, and for taking a break from overwhelming gunfights. Notes 1 - If you destroy the zeppelins as soon as they show up, the Patriots won't keep respawning. 2 - I've been fast enough and apparently no handymen were deployed into battle. 3 - In the end the generator core had somewhere like 40% healthbar left. 4 - This should be enough to successfully pass through this final battle.

Holy shit I finally decided to play this game and this fight was literally impossible without just littering the core with return to sender I died and lost like 10 times in a row and I almost quit until I decided to look up help thank God RU-vid recommended this vid

Another handy thing is start charging shock jockey into trap mode and aim very high and arc it as far as you can to the other side of the zeppelin and do it a LOT. When the place it littered with shock traps it will take very long for enemies to make it all the way over to you and you don't even have to leave the generators vicinity to set more shock traps.

Brilliant method. Got it in 2nd try too. Only thing I had to change up was the turret on the right that appears when you get wedged between zeppelins as I hadn't upgraded the sniper rifle enough to make it anything more than a suicide mission trying to shoot it lol. Just used songbird on that and the return to senders on the core meant it wasn't a big deal :)
