The feelings when you heard this song at the start and the end of Burial at sea are both brutally emotional to me. At the beginning it was like the paris ending we wished for Elizabeth and you felt genuinely happy for her. However, at the end when you hear this song playing at the background and little sally humming the lyrics of it it was so painful to watch. Its not very much of a "satifying" ending but a fitting one. Very well done, irrational game.
I second that. To think i almost didn't buy this after being disappointed with Burial at Sea episode one...This was just such an emotional and worthwhile purchase.
Alexander Lewis-White episode 1 was like "The Half Blodd Prince" of bioshock. It sets the story up for the next portion. While it may not be that great, it was necessary for the story

Last game I played that features Paris, Russian tanks were rolling and Eiffel Tower falling :P I stayed this opening scene for almost an hour just to admire the art and enjoy La Vie En Rose. Now i just finished the DLC, I wish Elizabeth could have just stayed in Paris :(
I spent probably half an hour here listening to music and enjoying the scene. I thought if there is a heaven, it is probably something like this. I also felt thankful because older generations had not chance of seeing these kind of "imaginary" beauties. And the ending... I cried a lot.
No, no, no! This intro is very depressing exactly because it's too beautiful, while we know that somehow Elizabeth will wake up to reality and realize she's still in that underwater hell hole called Rapture :'(
I used to plug my laptop into our family's large screen TV, sit real close and start this part of the game and walk around Paris. My whole field of vision was the TV screen and this scene. Having been to Paris irl and falling in love with this song outside of the game, this scene hit me the hardest. Especially, because I had started the game RIGHT after coming back from France earlier that summer
This is quite old but this will always stay in my heart. Nowadays I still play Bioshock and Burial at the Sea once in a while. It is probably one of the best and well made videogames I have ever played. I play videogames since I was a little girl but this is the only one that I feel emotionally attached to. I know provably there are better videogames than this, I understand it but to me this is one of the best.
I think we can all agree that “Burial at Sea: Episode 2” is superior to the first episode in many ways. I always wanted to see rapture before it all went to complete hell, and episode 1 gave that to us, but episode 2 is just a work of art. The opening scene combined the amazing story just made it all worth while

@@kartoffelbiene You mean published by 2k and made(developed) by Irrational Games (except Bioshock2). It's very different , the developer is not the same as the publisher in most cases.

He’s painting the bridge and lamp that you can see there as the foreground of the photo and the Eiffel as the back drop of the photo. Many artists do this when they are painting famous places so they can get the scene that they want with the famous subject integrated how they want
Even if its not canon i love to imagine at the end as the light is leaving Elizabeth's eyes shes this again but this time Booker is there. She's finally free
I remember so vividly March of 2013 when I was super excited for bioshock infinite , I finally got it , unwrapped the plastic off of the game and it smelt great (I miss that smell I haven’t had an physical copy of a game in years) . I played it for days straight beating it then to beat it again on 1999 mode to 100% it which it was one of the first games I had ever 100% completed . The beginning, the end was so emotional for me I remember feeling so connected and moved by that game and even more so by the DLC I waited so long for . It’s incredible and a masterpiece . I haven’t felt that way about a game since and I play very often . Life was much more simple , a lot of people were still there and I had the bliss of being ignorant to the world . This series in general will always be held so insanely high in my heart .

I know everyone here is praising this scene but- it shouldn’t take 10-15 minutes to get into combat. You could’ve been the bigger better old brother Minervas den and fix this issue by the least if I don’t know? 5..? The games just walking simulator
