I just got this edition a few days ago. I was strolling through a secondhand store and they had this new in box. So naturally I asked the wife and I bought it! Haha
Bronze statue and exclusive art book worth 70 dollars. And the game piece and key chain 15 dollars.Plus the game for 60 dollars.Adds up to 145 dollars. And they need to make some profit so you are totally getting your moneys worth.
I really hope one day they make another Bioshock game, not a sequel to this since it ended so well. But I really think this is the greatest game of all time. I want to see something like this again some day.
+1, and a decent sized statue at that. They could have done a Ultimate Elizabeth edition, with a small key and cage (instead of the other 2 items in songbird). Maybe we'll see something later on.
The Bioshock collectors edition came with the Big Daddy statue. You got a nice metal collectors edition case. Also you got the soundtrack and making of dvd. This, you get no metal collectors case, no making of. A piece of a board game that I will not buy. A little cheap "art book". A Devils kiss post card looking thing(it was sold as being much bigger). Don't forget the key chain. And most importantly a songbird statue that's a lot smaller then we all thought. I paid 150$, wow.
I bought this version. While I wish the statue was as large as the Skyrim dragon or the Marcus Fenix statue in Gears 3, the collector in me doesn't regret this purchase. I'm grateful to have a job :D
Special edition was 70 bucks less for everything, but the statue. Take Two learned that ultimate editions push a pretty penny for their rarity. Not charging a Benjamin for these anymore.
$150 + tax is overprice I think, consider GoW: Ascension has an impressive statue + steelbook + season pass is only 1/2 that price at only $80. $100 for that seems more reasonable
"Maybe you know exactly which bush to burn in the legend of zelda or maybe you know the score to a football game several years ago, and in a way, we're all nerds" -AVGN.
I just wish they added more to the Songbird edition. I mean the keychain was one of the cool things I liked too, but essentially you get EVERYTHING from the Premium edition except for the statue. I think they were trying to get some cash out of it though since it's 'limited' stock, so the statues are collector items. Although who knows how much this statue may be worth down the line, I'm seeing people on E-bay putting out over 100 USD for the statue alone.
Is it worth it? I mean I already have the game and the season pass, but I almost have the money to go out and by the song bird edition. I think the statue and the other bonuses are really cool, but I just don't know if its worth it in the long run. I love the series to death, but I just don't know.
I just opened my songbird edition and it's really nice. Feels heavy and well made. I don't know why people would want a bigger statue as It's about 9 inches tall and 12 inches wide. How much of your living room do you want taken up by a statue? Also it seems the UK got a price drop for a change.
Man I forgot about this! I bought the game by itself a week ago (and it's amazing!) but if I remembered the Songbird pack I would have totally have tried finding this.
You can still buy it through Gamestop's website, they're doing a kinda "from the warehouse" sale. So you can still get it through them the only problem is you wouldn't get it on launch day and if you go with just the standard shipping it'll take 5-10 days.
The Songbird is not standing on a motorized patriot head. Motorized patriots aren't made of rock, that's probably just a broken down Columbian statue. For someone who calls himself a huge Bioshock fan he doesn't seem to know very much.
it is so hard for me to get a season pass see I live in Canada and in a small town, Kamloops is 2 hours away I cant get a season pass because my town doesn't have a game store and there is no online store that sells them for Canada AND I couldn't even pre-order it either!
$150 seems a little steep for a couple of pieces of plastic. I think $100-120 is OKAY but almost another additional $100 for a small book, 2 tiny trinkets and a plastic "okay" size statue is pretty "meh" if you ask me. Oh well, amazing game and can't wait to play it when I wake up tomorrow as I have the majority of the day off to enjoy it! Woo! PC version FTW also!
The songbird is actually on a statues head of George Washington not a motorized patriots head. The songbird would be super small if it was, but that's ok mistakes are mistakes!
