Time Stamps: Intro: 00:00 Development: 01:32 Gameplay Discussion (Combat): 08:02 Gameplay Discussion (Quests/Story/Flaws): 18:25 Conclusion: 33:04 Thank you very much for watching! This video was a great excuse to replay Jade Empire a few more times. This is easily one of my favorite games/rpgs. Bioware/EA should re-release this on modern consoles and potentially consider a sequel. Thank you for watching and if you want more videos on rpgs, here's one for another great and underrated one (Kingdoms of Amalur): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DpjgYdAcqSY.html
@@joethealternativegamer3935, Sure, but the problem begins when I put the volume way up so I can hear the game dialog that you stay quiet for. Then when your voice comes back up with now much higher volume, it blows out my ear buds. I just feel like those 2 sound levels should be a little closer.
This game consumed my weekends for several months straight after a launch day purchase. No kids, fresh out of the Navy, money to burn, and days off that I typically chose to spend playin games in boomin A/C. A Microsoft equivalent to a Bluepoint remaster would be a dream come true.
Jade Empire was fantastic. Its sad that Bioware never revisited it with a remaster or sequel. I'd personally much rather have a new one than another safe Mass Effect game.
I would agree that it is fantastic! I think at the never least they should re-release it. It was put on IOS, so put it on PS4/Switch. I would love for bioware to continue with Jade. I am excited about a new mass effect. I love all 4 games, even though 3 had a horrible ending and I found andromeda to be underrated. I hope this new mass effect is a way for them to correct the poor ending of 3.
Man what a surprise! I just finished Jade Empire and thought I'd see a retrospective, and came across you again! Fantastic video Joe, Jade Empire was an amazing game
As someone who loves martial arts and RPGs its odd i never played this by now. But i was 15 when it came out and had no xbox or pc so....I'm checking it out now
thank you so much for this. Jade Empire is my favourite game of all time and it's really nice to see I'm not the only one who still adores it and wishes it got more mainstream success. All the points you bring up are ones I absolutely agree with. Overall just a great video about an amazing game
Am I wrong in thinking this was a prelude to Mass Effect? I really wish they had at least one followup to this, I absolutely loved every second of this game!
I'd argue that BioWare's most forgotten RPG is Sonic Chronicles, but this probably takes 2nd place. Still have yet to play it but thankfully it's backwards compatible on any Xbox.
I have this game on Xbox one it’s the best martial arts game I’ve ever played the story is so deep and versatile and don’t even get me started on the replay ability
Great video, I feel like one of the biggest problems with the game was the marketing. I honestly had no idea the story was as powerful as it was until I played it myself.
Thank you :) Yea I was a lot younger when it came out! I didn’t pay attention to the marketing! I just knew the guys who made Kotor had a new game coming out!
Seriously i thought i was the only one. Jade Empire is my fav game and they deff need to remaster it and give us a sequal. I feel like so many people overlooked this game it’s a masterpiece
@@joethealternativegamer3935 It’s deff my fav bioware game. Watching this video got me so excited i just loaded the game and i’m about to play. This game was really a gem. Since bioware still owns it idk why they can’t give us a remaster. It would look amazing with todays graphics
OHHHH THE MEMORIES!! MY FAVORITE GAME OF ALL TIMES.. The nostalgia as i played as a kid. What a time. G4 used to have xplay cheat and so many good vibes from that era. I used to go to sleep to the theme music when i would save during my mission at dirge. Replay value is CRAZY HIGH. Always a new story every time.
it's criminal that jade empire never got a sequel or spiritual successor. Dragon age origins is my favorite game of all time. Jade Empire is a close freaking second!
Really the best game i ve ever played. Very deep story that keeps u up at nights. But play the grand master difficulty or it finishes so soon. It is available on mobile too.
I opted for this, many moons ago, over the more pricey RPGs Xbox had to offer.. Didn't have enough $ for KOTOR, and I skipped Advent Rising, this game had me glued with it's lore, gameplay, and extras along the way... Seemed like it had something for everybody, but a >$10 used game at Gamestop, I'm surprised more people still haven't tried, or recall it at all. I'd say a damn good game, if you're any amount a fan of Shenmue, Mortal Kombat, Bioware, I'm surprised this game didn't achieve the glow, though it may be better by it. Far as an RPG, I'd say it succeeds in immersion, freedom, and yeah multiple playthroughs are needed, given the dynamics. Great review here & maybe there will be a Jade Empire II? 🤔 Haven't gotten through maybe 35%-40% of it my first time through, but it definitely gets a nice replay. 😁
Jade empire is definitely an underrated gem. Sure it has flaws but if you played this game on release like I did. You know how ahead of it’s time it actually was. The marketing and timing for this game was just terrible. It basically came out when the first Xbox console was at its end and the 360 was out and other games were on the rise. If things were different this game could’ve blown up. I feel like BioWare will make a sequel soon though. People are getting bored of playing the same type of games and jade empire is perfect to break this rpg style. If there’s any time to make a martial arts style rpg with a great soundtrack and great story......now is the time.
One of my favorite rpgs! I’d love a sequel but I generally have less faith in modern game writing. Especially for sequels to older games. And for jade empire 2 most of the top tier BioWare writers have left. But, if it could be done well, I’d love a sequel or a spiritual successor :)
I loved playing this game for hours and hours and it never got old. I created a super powerful character on my first save, but then a friend of mine accidentally made a save over it and I could never replicate it. 😭
This game came out less than two months after Avatar debuted on Nickolodeon! Coincidence anyone? Hell Wuxia was trending in the 2000s, especially thanks to wire fu effects. Matrix and The Forbidden Kingdom non-anime isekai film anyone?
Interesting! I think I’m going to give this a try. Though if you don’t mind me giving my two cents, you kind of repeated points a little bit in the middle. It’s not too bad, but I occasionally felt like I had accidentally rewinded in a few parts of the video. Good job nonetheless
I know it's a very minor detail in Jade Empire... But I also wanna give kudos to Bioware for including LGBT+ options to the romance mechanic that, tbh, not many people might've even known existed. Especially for a 2005 game released near the end of the Xbox. 😅 It's not something they had to do, but I appreciate that they added it anyways, and (no on-screen kiss aside lol) are pretty respectful about it. Love your vid fam, you definitely described all the reasons why I love Jade Empire as a game 😁👍
