Thank you @John Perez. What african species do you breed ? And you also you have the painted firetail ? Emblema pictum? 😲 Now thats amazing the bloodline of that species is running very thin here in the U.S ! How many pairs do you have ?

@@paradiseaviary painted are getting harder to find. I'm working with cutthroat and redcheeck blackbelly fire finch picking up in May 2 pairs of volet earwaxbill also have two pairs on the way now of chestnut brested manakin. In also working with the Golden shoulder parakeet hope to get those ready for breeding this summer

@John Perez yes most of these species are getting very hard tp find. Are the black belly fires coming from portugal? I use to breed a large variety of fire finches back in the day black face, black belly, blue billed, but now only keep and breed the red billed which is the easiest of them.

@V.P.S Aviary Not anymore use to have a few pairs back in the day. Now they are very hard to find!

@@paradiseaviary i have one pair and i don't find good information about them and i dont't know much....

They are not hard to breed most pairs will do well in cages, thats how i use to keep them. Try to condition them with sprouted seeds and offer a square nestbox. Im not sure how big the bloodline is over there but the problem we had here is that we didnt have many originally imported and bloodlines ran thin there was a lot of inbreeding and that caused problems over the years where now the few we do have left lay alot of infertile eggs. Hopefully more will be imported soon!

I use to breed them years ago had around 25 pairs but started to focus on other harder to find species. Im planning on getting 1 or 2 pairs to add to this aviary. I really miss them they are extremelly beautiful birds!

Hello Dilip Kumar S I have society finches but no goulfians at the moment. Years ago I had around 25 pairs of gouldians but now focus on harder to find species. Ive been thinking about adding one or two pairs to the outdoor aviary!

No. Daylight should be enough unless there is no natural night.

@Alan Siva, Like dumb waiter said no need to have light at night only normal daylight 10-14 hours depending on if your breeding or resting the birds
