Bird Guide: Since its a smaller trail, we did not engage any bird guide.
Camera Gear:
My self & Manodaya on Nikon D500 & Nikkor 200-500mm.
Minudika on Nikon D500 & Sigma 150-600mm.
Better if you can carry a monopod as some of the trails are quite dark, and you may need to go for lower shutter speed. Specially inside the Congkak recreational park. But along the main road, you have enough light.
Accomodation:
Since its 40km form KL, and just a day trip no need to stay in Ulu Langat.
Travelling:
Sungai Chongak is located in Ulu Langat, which is 40km from Kuala Lumpur. It takes less than an 1 hour to reach. As the trail is quite dark in early morning, better plan to reach there about 8.30 am - 9am. Weekdays will be the ideal for birding, as the weekend the park will be crowded with parkgoers.
Food:
There's no much food options at Congkak, and only couple of small shops there.
Tickets;
You may need to purchase an entrance ticket at the main gate (Rm 1 for Locals / Rm 5 for Foreigners).
You may need to use bird calls to get some of the birds to lower canopy.
