GaneshGudi is best visited between October and March. This is the time when the resident bird community is augmented by the migrants. The whitewater rafting season starts from November and goes on till June. The monsoon season (June - September) is when the forest is verdant. Between April and June, the weather is dry and warm.

Thank you for your comments. Dandeli is around 480 km from Bangalore. You can choose to drive or take bus service from Bangalore. It takes around 10 hours by bus. VRL buses are good in my opinion. Stay in Old magazine house for the best experience.

This is a property of the jungle lodges, govt. Of Karnataka. If you book the rooms then the hide charges are free. Outsiders are not allowed to use the hide except for the hotel guests.

How is the dormitory room at old magazine house?

It's ok for a solo traveller or you are with your friends. I would not recommend dormitory it if you are visiting as a family. Take the rooms instead.
