We spent a few hours in the afternoon of the 21:st, and the morning of Oct 22:nd, birding the cerrado habitat at Chapada dos Guimarães.
Birds seen/photographed around the cerrado were Burnished-buff Tanager, Pale-breasted thrush, Blue-winged Macaw, Crested Black Tyrant, Swallow Tanager, Collared Crescenthest, Swallow-tailed Hummingbird, Suiriri Flycatcher, Black-throated Saltator, Shrike-like Tanager, White-rumped Tanager, Grassland Sparrow and more.
Around lunch it was time for the drive to Cuiabá for our flight to Alta Floresta and the Amazon habitat at Cristalino Jungle Lodge.
We had a late lunch at a hotel in Alta Floresta, and a siesta, before the boat transport to Cristalino Jungle Lodge. I got no good photos there, just a few bad ones (distant Red-and-green Macaw and White-necked Puffbird).
It was impossible to take any photos of birds seen during the boat ride to Cristalino, and by the time we got there it was just about 30 minutes of daylight left. That it was an overcast day didn't help at all! So, after check in and dinner there wasn't much else to do but unpack the bags and making ready for the next morning. We also made a short walk around the bungalows, shining our torchlights, so we spotted a baby Garden Tree Boa and a Blackish Nightjar on the roof on our bungalow. Got bad photos of those.
As usual I'll show photos of butterflies, moths and reptiles when/if I see some.
