I like this film very much for it's clarity and calm relaxed delivery. It's lovely to watch over breakfast, and go out with a positive feeling, looking forward to a new day.
Nice video of a place I love! Two corrections if I may Guy, the R T Bush Robin is a female Bluethroat and the Marsh Harrier is a pale phase Booted Eagle.
Yes, this is a Bluethroat, probably a female given the time of year. The blue throat doesn't show in the video because of the angle of the bird and because, being a female, it's not very pronounced, but the clear moustachial stripe is not evident on a Bush Robin. A Bush Robin's tail is much longer.
Hello Guy. First, let me start by saying what fantastic videos you make. It can be hard enough to see the birds, let alone get the beautiful footage you get. However, at risk of nit-picking can I point out that your Western Marsh Harrier is in fact a Short-toed Eagle (not, as previously stated by Olivia Jack, Booted Eagle - one obvious ID point, it's not got "feather boots," but shows bare legs, small feet and short toes, and small, dark bill).
Nice video with some amazing birds! I hopa I one time can go to Donana! At 7:45 is it a redshank rather than a ruff and at 10:28 a curlew instead of a wimbrel, you can see that the bill i longer and less curved on a curlew.
Actually Guy's original ID of whimbrel is correct. You can very clearly see the supercillium (eye stripe) and the median crown stripe. These features are diagnostic of whimbrel. Agree elsewhere - bluethroat female not scrub robin and short-toed eagle not marsh harrier, definitely not a ruff - probably redshank - great views though! and very much enjoyed your film .. many thanks.
