+dejuan porter I love that. but for real Lil dicky has the best lyrical content and keeps it so real. the best way to get past stereotypes is to laugh at them in good fun. There's no better platform to project that kind of attitude and open up peoples comfortability with each other's "differences" than hip-hop. I personally feel each individual I meet should know ima conduct my relationship with that person based on their unique differences and I am more than OK with them feeling free to say off the cuff comments about me. if it's understood that feelings don't get hurt, why can't people be open about what make an individual, well, an individual! laughter is the best medicine and my friends and I have a kind of humor where if your pride in life is say, in a very, very plain metaphor, driving your supped up Prius, we are gonna laugh at you when you be swaggin in your Prius. very plain metaphor again, but really we laugh because it dosent matter one bit. it is not saying anything, we just keeping it funny you know what I'm saying? so getting but hurt really just makes the joke better. And on the real, depending on multiple other factors, my loyal friendship to thus individual has been strengthened on the fact that I can just feel free to say things that paint the colorful portrait of who I am, for humor and laughter. No joke here, my three best friends were not so friendly at first. we really duked it out all the while learning who we really were, and at some point we all realized that if this guy is willing to swing on me like that, it may be we're not so different and could be friends. we all earned each others respect simply from how we all acted the same, all coming from similar backgrounds. if my buddy had cried in these fights I would not be his friend today. if he pulled a knife, we wouldn't be friends, but because he stood toe to toe with me on even ground, I couldn't possibly have anything other than respect for him. oh shit im rambling again. point is don't project weakness as a shield and I guess if I confirm to others that ima bitch boy, I will be treated like a bitch boy and get no respect. so I say to stereotypes is don't allow yourself to be defined but also, they are there and one cannot be beaten by anybody but ones self, so it is up to the individual to make they self bigger than what others think, because if there is no humility, one can never be able to make a positive contributions to culture or really getting past civilized hate like racism or sexuality. let's act like I just told a homo not to flic his wrist at me, I wasn't putting hate in the air, I didn't demean the guy, I was simply being observant of a person and being real. I wouldn't be caught dead acting like it's ok to treat me in any manor in which I'm not comfortable not to be mean but to prevent a relation with someone who I lie to and feel the need to treat 'special'. I am more that ok with being hated in place of wastefully using my give a fucks on someone who would not like me if I was completely real with them. it's happened before and will not happin again, because trust is deeply rooted and the further it is allowed to grab ahold, the greater the pain especially when if it takes all the courage in the world to be able to level with the one the relationship has been forged with. If the rug is to be pulled out eventually, I will rather make that metaphorical rug a non point befor building. it's a solid defence in an age when women will marry multiple times and where vows made to each other are nothing but part of the nuance.
