It's heartbreaking to hear the sadness in Birdy's beautiful voice in song after song. She is such a treasure but I fear that she is profoundly sad. I hope that it is just that she is inspired to sing melancholy songs and that in truth she is a happy young woman who sees the wonderful future ahead of her. But, no matter sad or happy songs, I will happily listen to her exquisite voice all day long.

Well… it’s about her break-up… and usually these sad things are inspiring. Listening to her in interviews and her promotional videos n stuff… I don’t think she’s a sad person. She’s an introvert, admittedly… and introverts often (not always) take a long time to get over bad things in life (they tend to hold things inside and don’t talk about it). So I’d like to think that this entire album is ‘ talking about it’ in a way… which is a healing process.

As a songwriter, i can tell you that making a body of work like music from personal experiences that are negative or are hurtful or even beautiful makes one feel so happy! It's taking negative things or personal experiences and creating something wonderful from that. So I wouldn't say she's sad. Making this album was probably a healing process. And that helps.

@@vanessa_sepulveda_c well yes but that's not the only reason it's took time, as she said she's spent a bit of time growing up & finding her self as well, hence a combination of both has given a delay but hey who minds waiting when it's as good as this, any true fan will always wait as long as it takes & i've never known Birdy to disappoint with her music yet & the standard of music she's bringing us now more than makes up for any delays, hence over the past 3 years she has kind of kept us keen by doing a little christmas song as well, one thing is for sure seeing her in interviews etc she does she has a very true love for her fans, she's a true sweetheart

Been listening to Birdy since the album Beautiful lies last 2016. Secondhand news just hits home for me. I had my fav person and friend at school who also happens to be someone I like. Then, there were rumors abt me before at school abt getting crazy because I suddenly became unlike me if that makes sense. I was very reserved and quiet at school before, then I suddenly became very loud and did very hyperactive things and wished to do a lot of things in a short period of time like it was possible. I was then diagnosed to have bipolar disorder by a psychiatrist. I've never heard from my fav person again. I always overthink if he believed them and if he also assumed that I became crazy. I hope he didn't think of me that way even if we're not to speak again. Birdy has accompanied my inexplicable heartache then until now. Thank you, Birdy.
