I hated having to use that light when our Magnaflux cool light got broken. Of course now you can’t get the mercury bulbs for it. I now use an LED handheld light
Why not remove excess wet particles from the surface like you did with the dry particles? If the current is still going, the magnetic power should be sufficient to hold the particles in discontinuities while the excess particles are removed.
demagnetization is loosing the magnetic properties in ferromagnetic materials like (Fe,Cr,steel,Ni and etc).there are different methods to loose magnetic properties 1)heating of material which have magnetic properties 2)trying to place same poles 3)improper handling
