This video depicts the birth of our firstborn in Malmo, Sweden. In Sweden, healthcare is free and we did not pay a penny for the whole delivery process. We had a wonderful experience and in the next videos, we will share our experiences for the same.
When you think you are in labor, the first thing to do is to connect with the delivery ward. The midwife will let you know if you need to come to the hospital for an examination or not. During the examination, they will determine if you need admission or they will send you back home. In Sweden, they emphasize normal delivery. They have certain pain relief options which you can discuss with your midwife beforehand.
In the ward, they provide 3 meals and 1 snack which is free for the mother and the father. As per how the delivery goes, they will monitor both the baby and the mother in the hospital for certain hours.
