Painful more in terms of effort more than actually passing them. Like passing a big poop, you feel exhausted by the time you are done. Comparatively I've had poops similar in size to that baby, and my pelvis is much smaller than hers 😂

For a birthing room, sanitation requirements rule. It is very unusual for them to be in labor so long so she had a longer stay. And as Andrew G mentioned, in the wild they look for a dark damp cave!

*she and she is too young she needs her momma i dont know how you think just throwing a baby like that into the wild would help her it would just kill her. So please understand peope are trying but not every single panda will be released into the wild because some pandas were born, in captivity and they would just become targets if they were let go. Since they were born in captivity they wouldnt have the instincts that their wild counterparts would have. I dont know the history of this mom but im going to guess she also was a captive bred panda. Getting pandas that were captive bred scared of people would be a big job and would take a looong time

FrozenEternity Lol, that did occur to me too. She had no choice in the matter - labour lasts as long as it does, you can’t just give up or die on command if you’ve had enough. Females in comas give birth. If the labour proceeds it proceeds. If you die, you die. The labouring mother has zero choice over what happens and for how long.
