Birth of Our Baby PANDA!! 🐼 Daily Planet Zoo! • Day 9 

A few interesting facts about Giant Pandas and their reproduction: panda females only have a period of a few days out of an entire year in which they are able to mate and become pregnant. Also, after they mate they often go through a process called delayed implantation in which a fertilized egg can actually float around inside a female's uterus for a period of several days before it finally implants and development continues. Panda females can also have what is called a pseudo-pregnancy which means that they could go through all of the changes that their bodies go through when they are pregnant even if they are not. For pandas in captivity, scientists will track the female's hormones in order to determine when it is possibly time for a female to mate and then when they give birth, but because of their biology it is hard to determine their gestation period. Panda cubs, when they are born, only weigh about 4 ounces at birth which is about the size of a single stick of butter (or a smart phone if you will) which makes them very hard to detect on ultrasounds. As an example, when Lun Lun (loon loon) the female giant panda at Zoo Atlanta gave birth to her first cub in 2006, her caretakers had been monitoring her for months with daily ultrasounds and they still did not know she was going to have a cub until the day her baby was actually born. Also, it's estimated that about 50% of giant panda births result in twins, but sadly as with other animals, only one cub usually survives. In places like the panda reserves in China, they managed to perfect a method where they figured out that apparently mother pandas didn't seem to no the difference between cubs which allowed caretakers to essentially swap cubs with the mother every few hours, meaning that the mother would have one and her caretakers would have the other. This allows for their caretakers to assess the health of each cub while allowing both of them to have equal time with their mother. Then, when they are older and can move more independently, they can both be given over to Mom to be cared for her by her at the same time. Sorry for the extremely long comment, but I tend to get rather excited about wildlife and conservation education, LOL. :)

Hey Seri! I have some tips for you: 1. Put the flamingos in different habitats. They don’t feel happy with the pandas. 2. Get rid of the trees in the habitats because the visitors can’t see the animals because of how much decorations you put in the habitat. There is no hate into this comment, these are just tips! I’m very Anthusiastic about the zoo! More tips of course! 1. In the zoopedia if you pick an animal it will give you its welfare summary 2. This is for a future zoo try to build your first habitat near the entrance to use its power and save money! 3. Concentrate on selling merchandise and gifts in the zoo! Put them everywhere! 4. A building tip you can take beautiful builds from the steam workshop and delete piece by piece ripping them to shreds looking at building techniques, and styles! 5. When you are playing sand box mode you can make your animals immortal, in the settings click all the boxes in current save settings this will stop them from fighting, aging, dying, getting sick, and having babies, (I suggest you do this after having some babies to have immortal babies hopping around your zoo)! 6. Always focus on your employee capacity in the staff buildings!

What a stunning enclosure for our pandas and flamingos I can't wait to see what will be created next seri! The panda shrine is such a unique idea and I've fallen for Di Di and An's cub, he's so precious. I can Imagine a giant forest for the wolves and a beautiful river running through their territory, you could make something truly fantastic with all of the plant options and trees. I'm so excited to see that! Keep being awesome Seri! :D

the greater and lesser flamingos live in Africa. Greater flamingos can also be found in the Middle East and India. Giant pandas live in a few mountain ranges in central China, in Sichuan, Shaanxi and Gansu provinces. these creatures would never live in close proximity to one another.

You can add an anti-climbing feature on the top of various barriers such as the wooden one!

I believe there's a way to make claimable walls unclimbable. If you look in some of the options after clicking on the wall in question, you should be able to find an option to add a little ridge thing that turns any wall into an unclimbable one. It's sort of hard to find iirc, and I don't remember exactly how or where to find it, but it should mean that you can use whichever type of wall you want without fear. Hopefully this helps!

It seems no one has said this yet... DONATION BOXES ON THE BRIDGE!! There’s tons of people up there and you could be makin all that money... Also, Seri if you still plan on putting the merchandise store on top panda mountain, you could build a staff path off the side of it (hidden in trees) so your workers can go directly to the staff section and their staff room without having to build another one. You’re so close to the little staff center you built, all you need to do is connect them! 😁
