I love how the lyrics reflect the machine-like, but still emotive nature of the production. «It's a fine day, it's a birthday! Who's birthday? Someone birthday It's a fine day, it's a birthday! What's birthday? Something birthday» Like, the lyrics follow a logical progression but are still gramatically incoherent. The first thing they say is still "It's a fine day" though, so it's still celebratory in a way. On another note, HANA looks so cute on this video, somehow, while adopting such a simple pose and staying completely still, almost like if she was just talking instead of singing, but still very much friendly. Hoping for a full MV release, the concept is adorable.
Yes, I recognized it immediately. It's an unforgettable hook. Also a very annoying hook if the instrumental doesn't fit but this is a match made in heaven, it's like it was made specifically for this track.
Towa Tei has been the soundtrack to our private life here at RU-vid channel CASA BRITALIA... We started randomly with this video back when it was released, and it led us down a beautiful road featuring Mind Wall, Mars, Technova and everything else. My secret favourite is Wordy. We went to Japan and found out the Towa Tei was performing. At this point he wasn't doing much live stuff and there we were in Tokyo for just a few days and bam! So we went and watched him perform all our favourites! He released Brand New Emo and REM that night too! In Tokyo there were no trains back in the middle of the night, so we entered the club at maybe 20:30 and stayed until 04:30. At which point, being close to 30 years old, we were basically just walking in time to the music on the spot and not really dancing. It wasn't even Towa Tei performing by this point, we had seen both his great sets. And so we left the club and went to a Ramen bar nearby and got some food at ridiculous O'clock in the morning until finally catching the first train at about 06:00! It was a night to remember for sure. We were in Mos Burger before hand getting a Tofu Burger and I remember my heart racing, "Oh my God, we are finally going to see Towa Tei live! I can't believe it!" Towa Tei's astounding music continues to evolve and I'm still enamoured. Thank you for the memories Towa Tei. And if anyone is reading this and has a story related to his music, please write it too! I would love to hear it! From Casa Britalia.
