Each year I've headed to the same stream the same week in February. It's become a birthday tradition. And every year I catch trout. I've never been skunked. Did I just jinx it, or can I keep the streak alive?
As a bonus, this is one of the first stream Pennsylvania stocks for the spring season. And they stock it immediately after the season closes. So most Pennsylvania trout fisherman think you can't fish for trout this time of year. But certain areas fall under Special Regulations known as "Delayed Harvest, Artificial Lures Only", or DHALO for short.
Those of us that read and know the Fishing Regulations get to enjoy a productive season with less pressure and traffic on the streams! For me, It's almost like PA Fish and Boat is saying "Happy Birthday! Let us stock one of the closest streams to your house early!!" :P
