The forefathers of these people used to speak a language which is same as Bishnupriya Manipuri Language. But this language is in the final stage of extinction among these Akkabat people. They remember few words used by their parents, as recorded in this video. Some words are Thief as Dakugo, Bean as Khoi, Gold as Hunaa, Breast as Bunigo, Father's as Bapokor, Mother's as Malokor, Child as Sowgo, Cat as Mekugo, Don't Tak as Kotha naa maati, Love You as Hada Paori, Footwear as Khurum, Butt as Laari etc. One most important word is a slang word of Bishnupriya Manipuri which can not be written here, please watch the video to know it.
