Bishop California Fishing - Trout Fishing - Fishing In California - Bishop CA. Our second day on our fishing trip was great. We stayed at the TraveLodge and had their complimentary breakfast, we like it because it's free plus saves time because we can eat in the room while we get ready for our day of fishing. It was a chilly 23 degrees and we headed out to Intake 2 which is a bit of a drive and up in the mountain areas, about 7400-8000 feet elevation, but because it's location the lake doesn't get a lot of sun and it was unfortunately frozen over.
Then we traveled back to Bishop CA and fished at North Fork Road. We had a great time and the weather was nice. We packed a lunch because we thought we were going to be in InTake 2 which is far from any food establishments.
We checked out Google Maps and decided to follow the Owens River to a new spot we hadn't visited and found Buckley Ponds. Kind of quiet there but I did end up catching a largemouth bass!
We then headed back to North Fork Road to meet our friends again and came just in time to see Ernie catch a trout.
I ended up catching more Crawdad but released them to live another day. I ended up catching a teenage trout but threw her back.
If you're wondering things to do in Bishop California we would recommend fishing the Owens River, it's long and has great stream fishing. You will find mostly rainbow trout and the coveted brown and golden trout as well.
