Cora's coloring is called buckskin, and her shading of buckskin is buttermilk. So her coloring is called buttermilk buckskin. She is a lovely girl. For us horse folks, what is her breeding? I'm so glad to see a trainer working with you all! :)

I love watching your videos. There is always something to learn and appreciate. It is a privilege to watch someone like you who really invests themselves so deeply into the raising and caring such sacred animals. I especially love that you watch your buffalo family with both your head and your heart. It is clear that these animals are more than a commodity and means to an end for you. Continue the important work you do and “ranch on”.

As someone who follows you from UK seeing these magnificent beasts is fantastic. Big Joe is a gentle giant but I know you can never trust them fully. Hoss was lucky big Joe is so easy going and not to bothered he had got into the wrong paddock. Love the new addition to ranch Cora she is a beautifully coloured mare, she will be great to ride round the Ponderosa rather than keep going out in truck.

***🌺Dusty, you have a beautiful filly!! From what I've seen on her she looks like what's called a Buckskin color. If she has a dark stripe down her back, then they call that a Dunn Buckskin. She appears to have a nice confirmation, which refers to the structure & appearance, or basically how well her body is put together. From the little bit I saw of her I'll be honest, I love her!!! Now I remember having heard you say you thought she was 8 months old & your little filly has a beautiful body for an 8 month old filly!! She's got a nice muscular build which is what I love in a horse. What breed is she, do you know? I personally love a Quarter Horse or a Quarter Horse & Thoroughbred mix. It also depends on what your going to use her for as to what reed of horse you'd like to have. You can look into all of that later on down the road. If you don't mind, I'd like to give you a very good piece of advice, that anyone new to the horse world should be made aware of. This is especially good to know & never forget, that is do not start to try and train any young horse with a saddle or a person on its back until it is at least 2 years old!!! This is very important because that young horses spine isn't fully developed, and if you start putting to much weight on that horses back or legs to soon you'll badly regret it!! To much weight on a young horses back will give you a sway back, that's where the spine begins to look like it's blowing or a u shape. Even a mild u shape can be very damaging & painfull for your horse. To much heavy weight on a young horses legs will be very damaging all the way around. Now & any future use or just riding of your horse could be damaged. Even if the horse was intended for just a pleasure riding horse! Just as in humans, the spine & legs of a horse is 2 very important key points of a equines health and how good, and how much pleasure you & your family will have with your horse. Many new owners make this mistake but it's not as common nowadays as it was when I grew up. Both of these can and will lead to a lot of health problems, not to also mention costly health problems!! Just remember to not rush it and take your time in training her. Also, a Filly is a female horse who hasn't had a baby, & when she does have one she's then known as a Mare. A Colt is a young male horse who if not castrated grows up and is called a Stud. If he is castrated, he is then known as a mare. I know a lot of people refer to all baby horses as Colts but it isn't correct and for some reason some people nowadays are so picky about that reference of a baby horse. I hear people even some trainers getting corrected on video channels about what a colt is. When I grew up most of the farmers or cowboys I grew up with didn't care & also just used it freely to describe a goal which is a baby of either gender. Anyway Dusty I will admit, I did a double take when I saw your horse 🐎 the other day! She's beautiful & like I said, I haven't gotten a good look to really study her yet but I loved what I saw! Her confirmation did catch my eye cause she had just turned, her head was held high and it looked like her ears just had the right amount of point & curve in them!! Her rump at the top of her back legs looked like she's developing a nice full, solid curve to them. Man, she's a lot of eye candy from what I had seen, which again, was briefly & in a video. She's bright and alert & that's nice to have in a horse. Now take care of her & be extra careful with her spine and her legs. Don't let anyone raise a hand to hit at her either or she'll become what is commonly called, a head shy horse! That's a bad thing & a whole different bad can of worms! You don't want that.

Dusty, I see the difference in weight in the slope of the shoulder. Down in weight, that is sunken in, up in weight it really fills out. I think Big Joe just likes to come visit with you. He likes to show off to his cows how to be friends. For Cora, get grooming brushes in your size and pony, small hands. Grooming is a big way for her to see you as part of her herd. Brooks can reach her legs and belly. Get a stiff brush, a face/soft brush, a rubber curry brush a hoof pick, and a shedding blade. Those are a good start for you and her.

***🌺 Continued: (Sorry it just cut itself off). All I'm saying is you have a beautiful filly in your care. Treat her kindly & always with a gentle hand and voice, but there will be times when you'll need to use a firm voice, and you'll love the horse she becomes! It's almost like raising your child. You'll find she'll have a sweet tender personality and I'd introduce her and Brookes while both are young but always be cautious & teach Brooke to be cautious around her as well. Remember she's young & she's gonna be playful but she is a baby who's got a lot to learn and boundaries with kids is an important teaching. Just like Brookes knows there's cautions with the bison, you'll need to teach her a lot of cautions with her new horse. I grew up on farms & ranches. I've been on horses since I was a baby with my dad. I've ridden gymkhana, rodeos and in parades. If this is the direction Brookes grows up in, all of you will have lots of fun. I think it was a great way for us to grow up. We didn't have anything given to us, we earned it. My brother n I had to cut a truck full of grass by hand with a sickle n tie it up n load it in the back of my dad's pickup truck every single day, rain or shine! If we wanted our horses that's what we had to do because the grass in the pastures were for our cows. We did it & it made us stronger in many ways. At the age of 13 yrs old, I would help skin & de-gut our cows plus we'd help at the butcher's, trimming & packaging our different cuts of meat. I also had to help my dad fence in 8 acres of land & make separate paddocks within that. Yes, I grew up much differently than many other 13 yr old girls and I wouldn't trade a single day of it. Good luck with your new 🐎 horse and I'm sure Brookes will have a great time growing up with her also. I've also been following Daniel & Dejays channels for a few years. Enjoy your filly & God ✝️ bless 🙏 all of you🦋. With Love 💞 & Aloha 🌺 from Yvonne 🌺 🦋 & Hoku 🐾 🐕 in San Diego 🌺 🦋 🌈 🌊*** San

Those ribs looked delicious!! And your little feller has grown a bushel since I saw him last!! Seems like he was a tiny baby not too long ago! He sure liked the ribs! I remember thinking when you first brought the little bull calf and his mama to the ranch he was going to be a great looking bull. I'm partial to black Angus. We had a few when I was growing up. See you next time👋

Just re-watched this video. Some of your bison cows are good looking beasts, good colours. So interesting to see the differences. Thank you, Dusty. Stay safe.
