Bison gooseneck goalposts are designed for ease of installation and accurate placements for college and high school football fields. If placed in position with the optional perfect goal adjustable height ground sleeves the goose neck goals may be removed from multi-purpose Fields. Otherwise the goals are permanently set in concrete it's difficult to correct mistakes when setting poles in concrete so read the instructions carefully and have all the parts tools and materials you need before you begin, including the materials needed for bracing the posts in position before the concrete cures. This video supplements but does not replace installation instructions read the complete instruction manual provided with the goalpost before proceeding. Placement of the pole on the field is critical know the setback length for the model of goalpost you are installing. The hole for setting the goal post is large and deep requiring a lot of concrete to fill so thoroughly read and carefully follow the instructions. The hole for the perfect goal adjustable height ground sleeves calls for additional depth and gravel on the bottom to provide drainage. Perfect goal ground sleeves allow for the removal of the goal post from multi-purpose fields, properly installed the ground sleeves provide the stability needed and adjustability for accurate height placement of the goal. The key to proper placement is aligning the front of the pole with the end line of the end zone with the top of the pole 10 ft above the grade of the field use bracing to keep the pole in place while the concrete cures. With the concrete set and the goose neck pole properly positioned you can assemble the rest of the goal post. We recommend using four people and several step ladders or lifts, while these goals are designed to be set up without heavy lifting equipment it does make it easier. You will also need a new sharp 7/16 drill bit for drilling into the pole a 1/2 in tap with 13 threads per inch to thread the holes and a pole 9 1/2 ft long and at least 1 and 1/2 in in diameter to lift and position the uprights. The T adapter will clamp on the goose neck and crossbar allowing you to perfectly level and secure the crossbar before being permanently fixed with the drill tap. Slide the T adapter onto the crossbar until it is perfectly centered the two drilled holes on each end of the crossbar should face the ground when mounted in position. With the crossbar securely clamped slide the T adapter onto the goose neck making sure it is on the pole as far as it can go, level the crossbar and secure the clamp on the gooseneck pole. Attach the upright to the crossbar end cap using the half-in set screws making sure the upright is seated in the bottom pocket of the end cap. With the upright attached insert the crossbar end cap into the crossbar and use a pole to rotate the upright to a vertical position keep the pole in place holding the upright vertical as you Bolt the end cap to the crossbar. This assembly process requires constant contact between the 1 1/2 in pipe and the adjustable end cap do not remove the pipe until the hex bolts are installed, do not stand under the uprights during rotation, and make sure the adjustable end cap stays fully inserted into the crossbar. Once you are confident that all is level, plum, and parallel make sure that all the bolts are tight. To permanently fix the assembly drill a 7/16 in hole through the four pre-drilled pilot holes in the the T adapter and tap the thread using the 1/2 in tap. Using the pilot hole of the washer plate drill a 3/8 in hole through the crossbar and end cap and insert the 3/8 in roll pin. Errors can be difficult to correct so it's important to get it right before everything is finalized and secured in place.
