The rubber gym mats are a great idea, this video is the first I've heard of it. I'm also looking for minimalistic ways to turn my 2024 short bed F-150 into a mobile sleeper, nice to have discovered your channel.
Awesome! I'm glad you found my channel as well. I highly recommend that mats, they give you good insulation and save your knees. It's a lot nicer than the cold truck bed!

It does really well in the rain! The canvas is coated with a PVC material so it's entirely waterproof. I used some seam sealer on the inside seams and then put some weather stripping in the front. I haven't had any water get in while I'm camping!
