Hi, I’m a woman in her 20s and I’m training to become a U.S. Navy SEAL. What advice would you give for women that want to be SEALs? If you had to go to BUD/S again, how would you prepare differently? What books or workout programs would you recommend? Most female SEAL candidates struggle with carrying the boats and logs, doing pull ups, having grip strength and completing the “Dirty Name” on the obstacle course. Also, a lot of female SEAL candidates break their legs or develop stress fractures. A woman made it to day 4 of BUD/S first phase recently but she quit on day 4. That’s the farthest a woman has made it. Her BUD/S classmates told me that her class hated her and ran her out from under the boat because she was a boat ducker. Nine women have entered the SEAL pipeline since 2016

Navy Seal BUDs training is 24 weeks. Do you think they are just running one mile and doing 10 push ups and sitting in a classroom? The SEAL training program has a dropout rate of 75-80%. the guys that push forward and graduate are tough as nails. Back in 2011 the Navy Seals switched from their CQD hand to hand to MMA style training for recruits. The MMA style training is from Linnx Global Solutions, which runs MMA gyms. But, Strickland is running his mouth. Time for him to get a regular job, but he can't because he was kicked out of high school for hate crimes. The guy is a bum. champion or not, he is a bum. In this situation I have to side with the Navy Seals, Sean Strickland has really crossed over that line thinking he could fight or belittle Navy Seals! If you know your history and do your research, these people are trained killers, and every counter point against Sean is valid and sound. Also for context, Sean's outburst is about David Goggin's advice to Tony in their training camp, and IDK if there's beef between Tony and Sean, but he taunted his lose but also Goggin's act tough advice. Then for no reason he generalizes his hate for David Goggins, and maybe Tony, and attacks an entire Navy Seals group...again, for no reason! Like someone legit has to tell that man to take a break from social media. 'An MMA fighter is winning against a Navy Seals in hand-to-hand combat-', nope. That's assuming Navy Seals has to fight in MMA rules, and Navy Seals can't do illegal strikes and holds/submissions. If it's no rules, MMA fighter is in DEEP TROUBLE, and likely to be killed.

That Seal’s name is Jimmy Watson. I know a lot of his background but won’t get into it here. Just know, he’s a Tier 1 Seal with MULTIPLE real life battle stories. If Jimmy chimes in about Seans’ comments, Sean has hit the pressure points of some of the Seal Community! I think it’s a simple resolve but Sean isn’t gonna have it. What he’s done now is say he’s a Military Vet supporter yet goes the other direction towards the Seals. Make this right Sean, it’s a slip of the tongue, it was an emotionally charged moment. You’re not short changing yourself Sean, most men know you’ll win in 1 arena and probably lose in a different arena, get it? Settle for the best of both worlds and clean your mess up. I will tell you this: SO many Fight fans were glad when you won and reached the top. Whether you care or not, these same supportive fans/ fighters and Vets will quickly take that away from you. Is this what you really want Sean? Do you want your brand to be this way? If so, it’s going to be very short lived moments of fame and don’t think for 1 second that those in power wiont erase your name and ability to continue. Sorry Sean, but you crossed a sacred line when you crossed our Military. Should’ve left well enough alone cause there’s no winning this battle, not a chance in hell you’ll get the support you held such a very short time ago. Think about it Sean, just take time to think about it. Your gonna be better off in the long run by explaining yourself and laying low for a bit. Dana”s not gonna endorse this nor is anyone else. I sure hope the paycheck and temporary spotlight was worth it because you caused your career some serious damage Sean

That’s silly of Sean. The two types of training are different. One is for fighting rounds vs another opponent. The other is to fight, continually until the operation or battle is ended. Michaels breakdown of fight training compared to military training is completely different. Military it’s just a continual onslaught to grind you down. To break you, to make you quit. Yes, there’s the physical, but it’s the multiple mental assailants that are the real trial.

What this really comes down to is will. Navy seals, special forces don’t train to with stand 1 fighter. They train to withstand all fights. And the loser of those fights don’t just walk away upset they lost. They die. And the seals and special forces accept that. Obviously not wanting to be on the losing end, but knowing it can and does happen. You don’t survive what they do with a “can’t do” attitude. lol. They simply have a different mind set. Giving up is never an option. MMA is the “fight game” what those soldiers do is not a game.
@briantravelman
@briantravelman 6 месяцев назад
To be fair, Navy Seals and all military people are mostly trained to survive and kill people with guns. Of course there's hand to hand combat too, and they have to be physically fit, but for the most part, I don't imagine they engage in too much hand to hand combat out in the field. They're training is more tactical and mental. So I don't think the bald guy is necessarily wrong when he says an MMA fighter could beat a Seal in hand to hand combat, but not necessarily break him. Military training has more elements to it, because like he said, MMA fighters aren't killers, they're athletes. But again, most military people kill people with guns, and I don’t image it's that hard to learn how to shoot at a target.

In MMA you have to win by points or knockout. the eal is trained to respond to an attack so would stand waiting for him to come to him and use dirty counter moves such finger to the eys and snapping his head around and killing him in one move. Not sure how he would go against the bigger guys as well considering he fights in a weight controlled division. It would tougher than he thinks. You are right . In summary , in a controlled environment you would have to give Strickland the win . In an uncotrolled envirnment. It's the seal. i would love to see im go and do their training or any special forces training. SAS comes to mind. He would be tapping out and wimpering in no time.

@@432htz3 there is a huge difference in mindset between a ring fight and a fight for your very life. A Navy Seal that has seen combat service, and most of them have, knows what it feels to actually kill someone, and are mentally prepared to do so at a moments notice. Like one said, you see someone enter your space and you immediately make a plan on how to kill them. You can still be nice and polite. I highly doubt that the average UFC fighter thinks like this. Also, Strickland forgets about force multipliers, like palm weapons, keys, ballpens and the like. A seal will know and recognize this as a weapon, and will use it to gain surprise and combat advantage. Can Strickland say the same? I highly doubt it. @@stalydude do you think we put our best assault troops into combat blindly? They have the best equipment, training, and support money can buy. If you don't have as much "control" of as many variables as possible, then you are fighting stupidly. That doesn't make it a "controlled environment". Do you know how much a Navy SEAL costs? A helluva lot more than a Sean Strickland. We don't just drop them into no-win situations. By your logic, they also fight in a controlled environment, and their opponents are poorer, pooly equipped, poorly trained, and importantly, outnumbered where it counts. Sean Strickland doesn't get a map of his battlefield with directions to the target, USAF and Army Rangers on speed dial, a sensory advantage over his opponent, etc., etc., etc. You control the variables you have access to WHEN you have access to them. They didn’t know what they were going into, they didn’t know who they’d be able to trust because it had never been done before, they were briefed beforehand that if they got into serious trouble help was too far away to reach them in time , it’s why special operations forces go through such an extreme selection and training process to ensure they’re mentally capable and resilient enough to cope with going into a situation knowing full well there’s a strong chance you may be killed, to go into a situation where they will be heavily outnumbered far behind enemy lines with no support or back up especially if that mission or task is classed as deniable by the government so all the assets you mentioned like “Rangers on speed dial” are not available to them because they’re not supposed to be there in the first place . When a UFC fighter steps into the ring his opponent isn’t stood on the other side of the ring with an AK47 is he. Plus he knows beforehand who his opponent will be.

I really thought he had a good moral compass ( a little weird ) but something I could get behind ... But going after navy seals?? ya lost a fan sean . We all train hard. Seals train harder. I have been around, and done different things at different times. Let me say it like this.. If you're training in a gym or on paved blacktop, and you get to go home at the end of the day and sleep, you wouldn't last through the militia training that I went through, LET ALONE BUDS/seal training. I probably would wash out of Buds. For context, the training I went through spanned the United States, and took five months. During that time, I experienced sleep deprivation, pestilence, wildlife, police encounters, forest and desert survival training similar to ESAER, and 25 mile ruck marches carrying my training rifle at chest height with extended arms. Swimming in fast flowing rivers. Body recovery after decomposition. Search and rescue. Vehicle extraction. This list isn't exhaustive, but you get the point. American Minutemen get paultry training by comparison to US NAVY Seals. I want you to let that sink in. We don't train half as hard. And as a martial artist as well since I was 8, I can tell you that you would cry and break before the third month of training for the militia. Let alone the military.

I’m gonna disagree that MMA guys will win. They’re is an innate assumption that there is rules. These guys literally will not follow your rules. Your eyes will be removed, ears eaten, chunks of flesh ripped out. When you go for the choke hold, they will eat your arm. Give them an arm bar and try to tap out, they’ll wreck your shoulder, rip your arm off and beat you with it.

Sean’s argument is ignorant to begin with. He’s trained in MMA. To fight. Officiated by referees and decided by judges. Seals are trained to kill. They sacrifice their bodies and go through hell. Sleep deprivation, the elements they train in and carry out missions in. Room clearing. Small arms, explosives you name it the list goes on and on. I’d bet a seal would kill Sean 100 times out of 100 but you put the seal up against Sean 100 times in a fight the seal is gonna win a few. That’s the actual comparison and difference here. Sean talkin to men who are walking killin machines like he’s the better man or tougher is asinine at best.

Sean is a tough dude for sure. But why do people keep trying to make comparisons between those 2? Monkeys are arguably the best tree climbers in the world, and crocs are arguably the best shore snatchers in the world. Both of them live in the same general areas but I guess it is only a matter of time for someone to claim that crocs climb trees better than monkeys, or that monkeys swim better than crocs.

There are a lot of holes in the navy seals arguments. They don't really refute Shawn, and if any of them think they are gonna win a fight with him, they're delusional. Also there is a huge difference between going it solo and being a badass with the worlds biggest and best military behind you. I think these SEALs got their egos pricked.

In my experience as a Marine I've seen a ton of fights, been in a ton of fights. The one constant I can see is that regardless of a man's training the man to get there first usually wins. First punch followed by violence of action usually trumps all that other shit. Now as a guy who's trained in many different forms of martial arts I know that that being trained vs not being trained is a no brainer but I've seen guys with massive amounts of training get there cards punched by the guy who struck first. However if I had to choose a skill set to have I'd 100% rather be trained evern just on a basic level in the art of war than something that is a sport. Fighting and killing aren't even remotely the same thing and if I want to see tomorrow I'd like to be a ok killer than a great fighter
