This was thorough. I just bought this, and I too, felt misled by the ProHeat name. I'm not surprised, though. Today, with shrinkflatoon and the like, it's almost normal to be misled. I cleaned a very dirty Toyota interior and my couch among other things and From being a auto detailer and carpet cleaner in the past I give this little machine 8/10! It holds its own!
Thanks for the review. I know a trick for the candle wax. Take a piece of brown paper bag and place it on the wax. Then, iron the paper in the area. Repeat with fresh paper as needed.
As a former carpet cleaner by occupation, even with our industrial grade carpet cleaning extractors, we still pretreated stains with chemicals for a while before trying to vacuum it like this.
would u recommend...'Heating' some water in the microwave..1st..then pouring it in to the clear container? ( i have a REAL BAD STAIN..my dog did...URINE...that's been there for at least a Month!! ). Cheers!!
I did let the water bubble in the pan. Took it out. Got a funnel. Ported in that plastic thingamajig. Worked excellent. No hiccups. And truth be told. My dog peed on the couch. On top of the couch. On the side of the couch. But it does work trust me.
I went back to check the manual and found this: "Fill tank with hot tap water (140° F/60° C MAX) to the water fill line. Do not boil or microwave water"
