We had one of these when I was growing up. Though mom has since bought a newer vacuum she still has this one and it still works! She uses it to clean her car, it has to be almost 20 years old! The best vacuum we ever had! I have a bagged version of the generation that was after this one.
I have the Dirt Devil Vigor Cyclonic Pet, the newer blue Bissell PowerForce Helix, the newer purple Bissell PowerForce Helix, and a bunch of other vacuums

I've used a few of these Bissells. I like how lightweight they are and simple design. As you mention they are fairly quiet. I found the hose didn't spring around like a lot of them do which was nice. The only things I don't like is the filters are hard to clean and I personally noticed they seem to blow a lot of dust particles out and you can tell there is usually dust on the machine it blew out. The bagged version seems to take care of those issues though.
@@graysonsvacsandmowers5426 I do know people that don't bother to empty the dust cup and clean the filter, then wonder why their vaccum keeps biting the dust so soon.
@@sujatabanerjee2447 you should check the filters. give them a clean. also make sure your power cord is not dusty or bent. if these tips do not help, you should service it with a professional.
Mine does not have good suction anymore, everything turns on but not much of dirt lifted. Does anyone have any idea on how to find out what is going on...? Is new...actually the second time used when it stop suctioning.

i bought a used one that did that. it had a large wad of hair and threads wrapped around the brush and a baby sock up inside. i removed those, cleaned ALL the filters, then it worked like new!

One thing that I don’t like about those older Bissell vacuums, is that there’s no mode for the brush roll, like where you can turn it on and off. They just have the carpet height adjustment dual.
